what in the **** did i just read?
This area of things is...maybe Trotz's biggest weakness as a coach. He's good at instilling work ethic/accountability/etc. in a team that needs it (see your Ovechkin example), but he seems to have that one simple message and nothing else.Trotz underrated great strength was his ability to enter the soul of each player and to play the right melody on it. That can not be taught or barely.
That’s nice. We have another thread for discussing former members of the organizations. If you have more insights to share on Barry, please put them here: https://hfboards.mandatory.com/thre...mer-players-coaches-past-seasons-etc.1769515/Trotz was being flamed and hated here for years. He was the turtle, he had no neck, he was clueless. Plus all those "fire Trotz" threads.
Losing Trotz was a mistake.

He's a good coach, probably very good. He's just kind of a simpleton and was oblivious to most of that side of things (see 2017 vs. Pittsburgh for prime examples). It's OK.Hahaha look what you are saying
Its not like the nearly the entire team has had tremendous growth under him.

He's good at creating stability and getting everyone bought in. But there doesn't seem to be any nuance beyond that.
Agree. Maybe they will get second breath.Caps looked very aggressive in the last 5 mins of regulation. Didn't see that much the last few years in a tie game.
