Injuries happen, most players are gimped in the playoffs, unless they're completely out then sure, an excuse there is fine. But man, you guys just can't let 2009 go at all huh.

2008 Wings were a good team, but ease up, your bias is clearly showing.

Excuse? Did I say that Pittsburgh didn't win the Cup or that Detroit deserved to? No. I stated that with better health (such as they had in 2008) they still win the Cup. That's not bias, that's just using logic. An opinion, sure, but hardly unreasonable.

But again, the point being that even though 09 Detroit was good enough to win a Cup, they still weren't as good as 2008 Detroit.

Likewise, I've seen Pitt fans argue that 08 Pitt was actually better than 09 Pitt. And we certainly seen 08 Detroit essentially toy with 08 Pittsburgh several times throughout that series.

Change this
1969-70 Boston 40-17-19=99
to this
1970-71 Boston 57-14-7=121

What an asinine list. Allowing fans who clearly have no sense of the history of the league and think the game was garbage before a certain date to vote on this list is stupid. Really no greatest team before 1970, no Montreal teams from the 1950s, a team that made 10 straight finals, won six Cups including 5 in a row. No 1960s Montreal teams that made 5 straight finals, and won 4 Cups in five years. No late 1940s Toronto teams that won 5 Cups in 7 years. No 1950s Detroit teams.

Shows what a joke this list is when 6 of the 9 official NHL dynasties have been left entirely off this list.

LOL at last year's Pens. Way to try and make a list relevant. Any list that ignores the only club to win 5 in a row completely loses credibility.

In:
Colorado, 1996

Out:
Calgary, 1989

Not a chance man. The 1989 Flames won the Presidents Trophy that season along with the Stanley Cup and have the 12th highest regular season winning percentage of any team in NHL history pre shootout/OTL. Definitely good enough to be in the top 20 list.

I love the team, but the 1994 Rangers don't belong anywhere close to the top-20 teams of all time. I'd put some non-cup winners ahead of them. In recent times, even the 2001 Devils or the 1996 Wings. Certainly the 84 Islanders.

If anything, the 15-16 Pens should be the odd ones out here
Nah, last year's pens team was one of the most dominating teams I've ever seen. They made a lot of very good teams look like they didn't belong on the same sheet of ice. Best cup winning pens team imo, better than '91, arguable with '92.

That said, it's a travesty 08 Detroit isn't on this list.

I disagree.
The pens 91 and 92 teams ranked 1 and 2 after the first 2 rounds of voting, btw.

08 Pittsburgh is only better than 09 Pittsburgh on paper. On the ice, guys like Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Letang all improved significantly, as that group was still in their early 20s at the time.

That's fine, as nostalgia will cloud people's memory. 91 team was mediocre in the regular season and struggled with a mediocre team like NJ in the playoffs. 92 pens were mediocre in the the regular season, but they do hold the playoff record for consecutive wins with 11, so it's understandable people rank them ahead of 2016 Pittsburgh.

Fan votes are about as reliable as Mike Milbury's opinions.

Sports are like movies. Casual viewers consume the present product and have little interest in its past history.

Almost no one is aware that Adam Sandler's Mr. Deeds is a disgrace to Gary Cooper's classic.
