I'd rather keep Killer and leave Names exposed. Names just did not figure it out and this was his year to show that he can play on at least the 3rd line. He's 4th line at best, IMHO, and that would have to be a non-checking line.
Yzerman pretty much said Kristers is done here, without actually saying it. Says he wants to go with Ingram and a vet (McKenna) next year.

So after TyJo, Palat and Drouin extensions how much will we have left over to improve the roster?
Roughly 5-6M to sign Dotchin, Sustr, Koekkoek and a backup goalie
Might get another 2M if Vegas takes Namestnikov
Garrison can likely stick around for the last year of his deal
Vegas will take Namestnikov or Dotchin.
We will be going into next season with essentially the same roster with downgrades at backup goalie and #3 center.
Isn't Point a natural center though? I always put him and Vladdy in the #3 spot depending on who gets drafted.
Yes. Even though Point/Vladdy are going to be #3c Filppula is still better at this point in time. It's a small downgrade but still a downgrade.
Yeah, I cant argue that. If Flip kept up like he did this year, he is a solid #3 and above Point/ Names for sure. But by next year, don't be shocked if Point sees a jump in production. I think the kids starting to put it together at the NHL level and I'm excited to see how he continues to develop between now and October.
