I was about to post exactly the same thing. And not exactly short at 5' 10". He'll need to add 30 pounds of muscle just to play in the league.
I wonder if any of the Russian players will be at the combine for some update physical stats.

EP and the KHL website have him at 148, Wikipedia has him at 159, and HockeyDB has him at 172. :dunno:

I probably shouldn't watch since I didn't hear about the Ovie lottery until the next morning.

So I get the weighting and lottery aspect. But how does it translate to the actual reveal on TV?

Not sure of the format this time but they typically start at the bottom and work their way up until the top 2 or 3 where they take a commercial break before revealing.

Happy lottery day!

No pressure for Bedard but today is likely the last day in a while when we have a 6 % chance to have potentially 2 top-50 players of all-time.

Sorry but I’ve seen no one projecting Fantilli as a top 50 all time player.
Edit: Reread your comment and realized you’re referring to Ovie and Bedard so I withdraw my earlier reply.

Just a thought. When the Rangers won the lottery, everyone complained the lottery was fixed by the league. If Caps are fortunate to win tonight’s lottery, we can expect an outcry that Bettman wanted to place Bedard with Ovie.

Objectively speaking Chicago or Philadelphia would be the best locations for Bedard from the league’s standpoint. Maybe Montreal, but I think US markets would be preferable.

Washington wouldn’t be a terrible spot, but certainly not high enough in the pecking order to rig it for them.

I think Vancouver would be the worst landing spot for him. The market is already saturated and they are a west coast team. It’d be like McDavid to Edmonton part 2. Arizona would be bad too, but he’d be gone from there in a few years at least.

Is 8pm the reveal while the actual herding of ping pong balls happens earlier?

Asking so I know when to time my voodoo
