Please stop this rigged shit. Its so MAGA lets be better then that

But it's fun.

I haven't been able to yell "RIGGED!" since the Caps got jobbed and the NHL gave Crosby to the Penguins.

(I know it wasn't rigged, but what else are we going to do for entertainment?)

Talk about the mountain of bad juju in this thread that cost us #1, that's what.

This whole time, every time this thread had a new post, every time someone activated the draft sim, every time we bellyflopped into jinxy convos about moving up in the order, my cringe meter went through the roof. Bad juju all over the place.

I've been spittin' and throwing salt and knocking wood and cuttin' feet off rabbits for weeks now, trying to undo all the reckless, wacky voodoo y'all been generating around here. There isn't a shoed horse within 10 square miles of where I live; the scrapyard's gonna have a field day...

Rigged? We get a shot at #1 once every 20 years and you guys jinxed it harder than a herd of black cats in a ladder factory.

Shame! Shame! Shame!

^^Chicago was always getting the 1st pick, no jinxing necessary. Too juicy for bettman and his boys

We got a top 10 pick in a deep draft. Bmac does his homework and we’ll get a very nice player who can make an impact. This team has a good history with the draft and we haven’t had this high of a pick in a while

Plus, bedard goes away to the west to not light up the caps and pittsburgh didnt move up. This pleases me

Saw this on the main boards.

The winning combination yesterday was 5-13-4-9.

5-13-4-1: [1-4-5-13] Columbus
5-13-4-2: [2-4-5-13] San Jose
5-13-4-3: [3-4-5-13] Washington
5-13-4-6: [4-5-6-13] Anaheim
5-13-4-7: [4-5-7-13] Nashville
5-13-4-8: [4-5-8-13] St. Louis
5-13-4-9: [4-5-9-13] Chicago
5-13-4-10: [4-5-10-13] Anaheim
5-13-4-11: [4-5-11-13] Arizona
5-13-4-12: [4-5-12-13] San Jose
5-13-4-14: [4-5-13-14] Chicago

I will watch the replay later but I hope that the ball number 3 was well at the bottom when they picked that number 9. I will be mad number 3 was somewhere near the top and then it's #9 that did show up.

The NHL released the actual lottery draft video, because everybody always manipulates the highest number as if it was the last drawn. You need the actual number draw to calculate the final odds. There were 11 possible combos left after the first 3 numbers were drawn: 5-13-4. 3 teams had 2 of the remaining numbers (Anaheim, Chicago, San Jose), 5 teams had a singleton. Nashville had a combo, which would have led them to 5th, with Anaheim picking first, so Anaheim had a 27% chance of picking first, Chicago and San Jose 18%, and the other 4 teams with 9% were Arizona, St Louis, Columbus, and Washington. If the final number was 3 instead of 9, the Capitals win. [Refreshed before I posted and ovikovy just wrote out the same thing.]

Also, because I wanted to do the math, there are 66 possible combinations left available after 5-13 are the first two numbers.

Those were the actual odds for the 1st pick after 2 draws. Ottawa and Nashville could not jump to 1st overall, thus Anaheim gets 2 further wins, increasing their odds from 13 to 16%.

Also just did a quick look-see at the 11 combos of the 2nd overall pick (not doing the 66 after 2 for that... yet), and that one was a bit more lopsided after 3. Anaheim had 3 combos, Montreal 2, Chicago, Washington, Arizona and Ottawa 1, as well as Pittsburgh and Calgary as not eligible to get to 2nd (Pittsburgh 4th, Calgary 6th), so 5 of 11 results leave Anaheim with the 2nd pick, or 45%.

*tries to decipher this, brain hurts*

Thanks, guys. So it's like I said...

"When suchandsuch team got 4th, a muskrat licked a Twizzler, the Twizzler fell over and knocked a gumball into a feather, the feather tickled the nose of a ketamine addict, the addict sneezed on a bus driver and gave him hepatitis, the bus driver freaked out and screamed 'GROSS! Columbus gets the 3rd pick in the 2023 draft!', and everyone goes along with it because we don't want him to wreck and kill someone unless it's Putin.

"IF he wrecks and kills Putin, the Las Vegas Raiders get the #14 pick in next year's NFL draft, the Atlanta Braves have to play the next two years in the NBA, and the Atlanta Hawks become a ballet company."
