Tampa moved it at the deadline to New Jersey for Blake Coleman (lol). I don't know how it works wrt the play-in.So guys ... trying to figure out something.
If the Canucks lose in the 1st ... does Tampa or the canucks get that pick?
If I'm not mistaken, the condition was if the canucks make the playoffs. Tampa gets the pick.
Some Canucks fans, saying that's not the case.
It would be a pretty epic fail if Tampa got the pick .....

Ok, and every year there isn't a worldwide pandemic, the odds for a playoff team to win is 0%.For an individual team? Sure. But combine the odds of the teams ranked 8-15--soon to be 16--and the chances of shenanigans is pretty significant every year.
Like I said, under no circumstances should a team in the playoff conversation have any opportunity of taking the best player in the draft. Their chances should be 0%.
Vancouver Canucks' first-round pick transfers to New Jersey Devils if they make playoffs - TSN.caoh snap, I didn't realize that was the same pick.
Interesting though ....
How? What why?Vancouver Canucks' first-round pick transfers to New Jersey Devils if they make playoffs - TSN.ca
If Vancouver wins the play-in, their 2020 pick goes to New Jersey
If Vancouver loses the play-in, they keep their 2020 pick and New Jersey gets VAN's 2021 1st
Shit. Kings in top 3. That team is going to reload quickly I think.

So the Play in isn't considered "playoffs" then. Basically.
Huh, interesting. I would have thought for sure that the pick would have transferred.
Now all of a sudden I want the Flames to beat the Jets.
Yeah, the only guaranteed playoff teams as of now are TB,WSH,BOS,PHIL / COL,STL,DAL,LV.
So we're watching a qualifying round first ... not even playoffs basically.
Oilers finally make the playoffs ... and they might lose in a qualifier haha ... the irony if they lost and won the draft
Now all of a sudden I want the Flames to beat the Jets.
Yeah, it was a stupidity on the NHL's part. They should have just had a playin for the 8/9 teams in each conference instead of this pandering to the large markets like Montreal, New York, Chicago and having 24 teams. It would be fitting if a team like Pittsburgh, or Edmonton won the lottery, where under the normal circumstances, they were locks to make the playoffs and not even be eligible for the draft lottery.
now all of a sudden i want the Hawks to beat the Oilers !!
watch the internet just MELT if the Oilers got #1 overall !!
The best scenario would’ve been the top 6 in each conference playing for positioning and the next 6 playing for the 2 wild card spots. These games could’ve all been a round robin format and handicapped to give the teams that were ahead in points the advantage they deserved. But the NHL needed to give their big markets a 50/50 chance.Yeah, it was a stupidity on the NHL's part. According to Bobby Mac 12th pick won the draft... so Edm would have to have the 4th worse record to get bounced out #1 or will they do another draft of the 8 teams
That would have belonged to Vancouver if they had used the league standings when the season was suspended.According to Bobby Mac 12th pick won the draft

Is it a redraft for the entire 8 positions remaining ?No, they do a redraft with the 8 losing teams. They all have the same odds to win(12.5%)

It should have been the top 6 teams in each conference get a playoff spot. Team 7 plays 10 and team 8 plays 9 in a best of 3 for the last 2 spots. The only team that gets screwed that had a realistic shot is Florida.
