well that makes sense for karlsson because he has low physical but what about subban? His physical isnt low.. Hes just lower in general

Pretty much. It's because of the star system. A guy who's only good at two aspects of the game and has two 5-star ratings is gonna have a higher overall rating than a guy who is 4 across the board.

When crosby is healthy hes just in a different league than anyone else the game should reflect that. In 13, id have be a gms where crosby gets 70 points in a sim. That shouldnt happen

The problem is they don't use enough of the numbers. Everyone is a 72-95. Junior players are 50's and 60's.

Junior players start out as 20's and 30's and NHL players should be 55-99. That would allow for better parity. A guy like Datsyuk could then have his offense properly rated without being as good as Crosby.

EA ratings are always bad. They just give guys generic ratings based roughly off what a players stats are. Just looking at a few names - Doughty and Girardi being ranked the same is insane. Gaborik's overall is ridiculous. Perry ahead of Getzlaf is also insane - I looked into their detailed stats and EA thinking Perry is a better body checker and has a harder shot than Getzlaf explains how many games their scouts have actually watched.

I really wish EA would be better about using the whole spectrum with their ratings. They do the same in Madden where everyone is at least a 70 and it makes everyone feel bunched up

It's bad across the board, their offensive attributes are about equal as well. Obviously Datsyuk should have better defensive attributes and Crosby should have better offensive ones.
