I suppose Tryamkin and Pedan will get solid looks in camp.
Gaunce should be a regular now. He'll be Prust's replacement next year for sure, if he doesn't find a full time job this year. I think next year, the team needs to relax a bit on the youngsters. Need to make sure the kids are developing properly. Unless a kid blows us away, you have to take it easy and give the current youngsters. Things are going smoothly now, but there will be struggles in the future and that's where you need some leadership to guide the kids in the right direction so they don't fizzle out and get lost. You can't have too many kids in the lineup. While, it'll be entertaining/fun to watch. Look what happened to Edmonton up until they got McDavid. Everything was going wrong.
Plus, If the rumors are true that Lucic is going to sign in Vancouver. I like Lucic but the guy is undisciplined and his bad attitude can spread to the kids. This is something the team needs to be careful with. Hopefully the Twins are showing the kids how to play the game the right way, and it'll stick to the kids.
Gaunce, Hutton, Horvat seem like great character kids but there are kids on the team that could really pull a Kesler and we don't want to see that.
Also, there comes a point when they are given expectations. Horvat as likable is he is, as a 2nd line center, is clearly under producing. It's okay for now, but 3-4 years from now. It won't be as acceptable. I fully expect McCann and Hutton to have a sophomore slump next season when they are given proper roles and bigger expectations.
Yup, this perception comes from fans not teammates.I don't get the bad attitude comments on lucic, I think he doesn't like to lose and is super competitive that's not a bad thing. From what I've heard he's a great locker room guy.

It's how he played the game in the last couple years in Boston. That whole team was a mess, and everyone saw that they were gonna get blown up, which they were. Lucic and Marchand were both undisciplined, spoiled, whiny, terrible sportsmanship players. Anyone who watched them play knew that. Just a few years ago, both of them were having a bad game and needed Scott Thornton out of all people to hug it out, literally on the bench, just to calm those two down. It was one of the most embarrassing moments in hockey.
There's nothing wrong with being competitive, but when Lucic is going to be getting paid the big bucks. You expect a leader out of him, not a guy that can't keep his emotions in check. It will absolutely rub on the kids the wrong way. Virtanen especially, who might be limited in terms of offensively. You don't want him to start gooning it up.
Pedan cuz of waivers.
Gaunce will probably finish the season on the big squad.
Shink should see some games this season and needs to be knocking on the door next season.
Kenins should have a full time 4th line spot.
Boeser I think is encouraged to stay another season at school just to spread the youthout. Or brought in for Utica.
