Shero was also under a lot of pressure to get to the playoffs now after missing the playoffs 5 straight years.
They then lost in 5 games.

Nico was #1, Hall was a great trade, Palmieri was a very good trade.
Bratt is a one month phenomenon. 10g 4-6 10 +3 in October, 64g 9-16 25 -19 rest of the season. Benched in the playoffs.
Vatanen (who cost Henrique, 20 goals in 57 games in Anaheim) and Noesen are depth players.
Gibbons was a 29 year old version of Weal.

NJ has a long way to go, and Shero traded a bunch of 2nd and 3rd rd picks and lacks talent in the pipeline.
When Kincaid falls back to earth, so will the Devils.

Kincaid has a career .914 SV%. We would kill for that right now.

I would call San Jose about Aaron Dell for starters. He has a .920 save percentage over the last 3 years as Sharks backup and i've always come away impressed by him. He has 2 years left on his contract at $1.9 before becoming a UFA and he won't be re-signing in San Jose with Jones locked up another 6 years.

But he just re-upped with SJ last season knowing all of that and knowing he'd be a UFA.

Pickard has a career .911 SV%. It was .913 before he played three games for the Flyers.

Team d way better. Sharks and Dell would be a great idea but again deboer has a team that can play a system and it's hard to get chances but here he would look bad.

Aaron Dell has had a weird career, one good year at ND followed by a .900 season, bounced around the ECHL, then got to the AHL at 25 and just took off. Really good AHL year at 26, then two solid years in the NHL as a backup.

This I disagree with.

Their on-ice performance isn't any better, but the talent in the organization is much higher and the cap situation is much better.

The problem is the TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO-GOOD, VERY-BAD COACHING STAFF.

I’m not even mad with Hextall and his roster moves. He proved to go out and sign JVR. (Praying he tries for Panarin this offseason). I’m not mad about patience with the propects.

110% mad with him not owning up to his mistake with Hakstol. I get it, it was something different and fresh bringing in a college coach. It was just the wrong one. Own the mistake, blast him, and reset the system (LAPPY TOO!!!). I’ve never seen more ass backwards development and rewardment in my life.

Really just frustrated watching the same trash game after game.
