The last time they could do that because the TV contracts said they had to pay even if there was a lockout/strike. That's not the case this time around so they owners would not be getting paid while they held out. They would be much more willing to compromise

Maybe. But I highly doubt the NFL teams are their only source of income. They still have more leverage than the players. My point was they dont need the league as much as the players do to survive.

The sooner Jerry Jones dies, the better the NFL will be.

We all thought that about George Steinbrenner. Jones son will just inherit the team. Just like Hank and Hal got the Yuckees.

Jason Whitlock and Colin Cowherd made a good point today on Speak For Yourself regarding the anthem. Youll never get an agreement because the country is different. Whether you believe in the political parties and all that garbage is irrelevant but most of society does. Geography matters. Texas is mostly conservative. You know where the people would stand on this. Its likw NY or F or LA. We know how crazy liberal they are. So the fans have different views. Jones bought the Cowboys for $60 million. They are now worth over $4 billion. The bottom line talks. This issue wont die for the same reason it will always be a problem it doesnt, the fans and how theres different views. Still the medias fault. They mentioned this when it first happened. Had they just ignored Crapernick it would have never been a topic. Also do you think if the guy wasnt in the hellhole that is Silicon Valley and in a place like Texas, Kansas City or Green Bay that he would pull off that stunt and get away with it and get local support? I dont. Geography matters.

Malcolm Jenkins is a hypocrite calling Jerry Jones a bully but then saying the owners should have the players backs. Either side wants it to be their way or the highway but society has become that way in general.

I have no problem with old Jerry doing as he pleases, he's the boss, he can tell his players they're free to kneel, or not to kneel, etc.
the essential problem with all of this is the optics
cause he looks like a dumb hypocrite
but, again, it's the NFL's fault for inserting politics into their workplace in the first place by accepting all those taxpayer dollars...

49ers CB Dick Sherman says that Jerry Jones has an old plantation mentality. Actually rich coming from this guy. Hes high profiled enough he probably has sponsors. Sponsors control the players and what they can say. They have created a plantation that has corrupted the mind of these athletes. Most of your NBA and NFL players dont come from traditional stable backgrounds. So they will easily sellout for the money. I also think of education. Who runs it? The govenment, especially at the public level. Its not free, thats just the socialist lying selling point. Everyone who owns a home pays school taxes even if they dont have a kid at all in the district. Then you have state tests and so on. Education is just indoctrination. This is why they get away with pushing college on everyone and why most place in the world require atleast an associates degree. Sherman was also fed a plantation mentality. Both have made a lot of money in a different way but one uniting way is the game of football. Thats what some of these guys just forget.

That’s one hell of an amazing back bend to try to turn Jerry’s hypocrisy into a reason to turn blame onto a black player.

But theres also a first amendment right to not allow it. All freedom of speech does is prevent the idea that we have to all think or act the same.

No, they don't have the right to not allow it. They do have the right to voice their disagreements against the player's actions. Furthermore, your post is so nonsensical and contradictory it boggles the mind. First, you say they can tell players what to do and then you say the idea of freedom of speech is to prevent the idea that we all need to think and act the same. So what is it? Or are you going to continue arguing out of both sides of your mouth?

Education is indoctrination? lol that is absurd. Free in the context of public policy has always meant out of your taxes. I thought everyone understood that. And everyone should pay taxes for public education because everyone, even those who don't have children, benefit from an educated society. It seems that a certain side has forgotten that or knows that and just doesn't want that for some stupid reason.

Respecting flag, county and anthem is in no way shape or form "military propaganda". The flag is one of the things that unites us all, you know "United We Stand, Divided...". It's the foundation of our country and it's not just some random concept pulled out of someone's ***. You don't have to like it here, you're free to move elsewhere
Kneeling is considered the highest form of respect and devotation somebody can have. if you kneel before someone you make your stand lower than him , showing him that you respect and trust him. You kneel before a king or during the anthem if you are really devoted to it. i don't see a problem with kneeling when our anthem is playing. Why would i? They make a silent protest without hurting anybody. in my opinion they are doing the right thing (considering only the way they are protesting).
