Is Bergevin planning on signing Cap Space as a UFA?

Domi's game is play making.

Don't just look at goals...
Team that struggles with scoring goals, trades away one of their best goal-scorers. Who is he "play making" to? Danault? Drouin?

They struggle at scoring goals because they don’t have playmakers. Pacioretty, Gallagher, Galchenyuk, Lehkonen, Byron are all shoot first players. Drouin is the only actual playmaker on the team.

Plekanec was a playmaker, Danault is a playmaker.

The real issue is that these players just aren't very good. But of course, perhaps the master plan is having Domi feeding Lehkonen...

Lol those two aren’t playmakers. They were gap fillers.

3.15 for 9 goals, half of them being empty netters.

Goalscoring issues in Montreal = Solved.

I hope Bergevin stays on as GM in Montreal for the next decade. Please.

LMAO at the toronto fans saying it was " too expensive" and wanted only a couple of hundred thousands lower.
so you are saying that a 3.15M contract is shitty for a 23 years old winger of 0.61pp, but a 2.98M is a perfect deal ?

are you really arguing habs fan on 100'000$-250'000$ ? are you even real ?
When you gotta find the problem but there is none you invent it.

we will repeat because you don'T seem to understand much. It'S not always about goals, Thornton don't score, henrik sedin neither. It's about playmaking capability.
MB clearly had the idea in mind to draft scoring wingers and buy high on Tavares or O'R

Thornton, Sedin, Domi.

One of them is not like the others.

Interesting. MTL has 19M cap space with the cap going to 80M. Danault + DLR will get at most 4M total so 15M.

If Pacioretty goes the other way, MTL could very possibly afford both ROR + Tavares...

Domi-Tavares-Drouin
Lehkonen-ROR-Gallagher
Hudon-Danault-Byron
Who cares about #4

That... Doesn't look half bad. It's obviously not happening but it's good to dream.

That's the part that definitely makes sense about this deal. They definitely need a playmaker more than a shooter. The problem is that the Habs who could benefit most from adding a playmaker - Lehkonen, Hudon, and Pacioretty - are all also left handed shots who generally play best as left wings. Those guys all got individual shots and scoring chances at a first line rate but scored a combined 21 goals at 5 on 5 last year.

Galchenyuk only had 4 less assists than Domi, last season, but 10 more goals.
I’d take the 10 more goals and 4 less assists

Why in the name of whatever fairytale god you believe in, would Tavares sign in the swirling vortex of crap that is Montreal?
Seriously now.... give your head a shake.

This would be a nice contract on a contender, but does MTL really need cap space for the 2 years that theyll most likely be a non-playoff team. The owners have clearly given the signal for a rebuild.

I think it'll hurt them in the long run instead for not signing a long term deal.
