Read an interesting thought: Players who thrive in MLS are north south players. Look at anyone. Prime example is Almiron. Davies. Drogba. Giovinco. Players that are more East-West will always struggle in this league, unless they have a noticeable above average footbal IQ (Piatti, Pirlo, Etc)
Pirlo struggled big time in MLS, probably because he was really old, but yeah. Maybe if he came earlier he might have succeeded in the MLS, but at that point he was still too good for the league.
Villa was amazing though.
It has some truth in it, the MLS is a very physical league, just like the Championship in England. Fast, north-south, no non-sesne. Less talented as a whole, but the guys can run. You need to work hard and have some grinta. It's not for everyone.
With that being said, a smart and talented enough player will succeed anywhere.
Bojan is really talented, but he doesn't understand MLS players and MLS players don't understand what he wants to do.
