So lets see, he is third in batting average, behind at least two in hits, doubles, homers, rbis among other stats

So just there hes at least the third best shortstop and since machado won the fan vote its down to lindor vs simmons before we even get to segura

You mentioned simmons 8th in WAR, but lindor is 4th. Lindor is top 5 in mlb in home runs, 4th in majors in doubles, 7th in hits etc

I get you want simmons but there is literally no stat that gets him in

Like it or not, the fans don't want to watch the ASG for defense. Simmons has hit a lot better, but most of his value is on defense.

A's fans are getting awfully offended here. I said I think Lowrie and Simmons should both be all stars. Simmons is having the better season. The stats back it up. Manny Machado is not good defensively at SS by any means. Lindor should be the starter and Simmons should be the back up. Lowrie is having the 2nd best year for AL 2B and should be the backup to Altuve. But to say Lowrie is having a better year than Simmons is a factually incorrect statement. He may be having the slightly better offensive year, but they aren't in the same stratosphere defensively.

Also, I understand that the All Star Game should be renamed the Offensive Stars Game, but if we're talking about the best players in baseball, there's no doubt Simmons should be at the top.

I have to wonder if players voting almost a month caused a huge issue. As in, in a month certain players went on super hot streaks but votes couldnt be changed
