I will actually get to see the game and Derby this year. I usually travel during that time but not this year.

It seems like the American League is pretty obvious. National League could be interesting.

Always a fun event. Was doing some research yesterday. An AL outfield could possibly include Trout, Betts and Judge. Good Night Irene indeed.

I can’t remember a time when a first place team this “late” in the season (at the moment, anyway) that only has one deserving all star (Corbin is probably Arizona’s lone representative at the moment.).

Abreu is only White Sox player who deserves consideration and hopefully he goes

One of the few bright spots on a bleak team

Not a bleak team. There's POWka. Yolmer, Reynaldo, Engel, Timmy. This team is not as bad as their record shows.

They need to focus on defense and Moncada needs to hit left-handed full-time. Would love for them to string together a decently long winning streak, they're fun to watch.

Here's who I'd vote for as of today:

Catchers: W. Ramos (TB) and F. Cervelli (PIT)
First Base: J. Abreu (CHW) and F. Freeman (ATL)
Second Base: J. Altuve (HOU) and S. Gennett (CIN)
Third Base: J. Ramirez (CLE) and N. Arenado (COL)
Shortstop: M. Machado (BAL) and B. Crawford (SF)
Outfield: M. Trout (LAA), M. Betts (BOS), A. Judge (NYY) and B. Harper (WAS), N. Markakis (ATL), L. Cain (MIL)
Designated Hitter: J. Martinez (BOS) and N/A

Who I think will end up winning:

Catchers: G. Sanchez (NYY) and W. Contreras (CHC)
First Base: M. Cabrera (DET) and A. Rizzo (CHC)
Second Base: J. Altuve (HOU) and J. Baez (CHC)
Third Base: J. Ramirez (CLE) and K. Bryant (CHC)
Shortstop: M. Machado (BAL) and A. Russell (CHC)
Outfield: A. Judge (NYY), M. Trout (LAA), M. Betts (BOS) and K. Schwarber (CHC), B. Harper (WAS), M. Kemp (LAD)
Designated Hitter: J. Martinez (BOS) and N/A

So, I think the Cubs fans will stuff the ballot this year.

I know its unlikely but i have to wonder if matt Adams gets an invite.

He has 13 homers (top 5 in nl) and 33 rbis (just outside top 10) the thing is he is doing this with almost 100 less at bats then freeman who has 9 homers 40 rbis

JD Martinez is an OF, by trade, not a DH

The Jays are one of those teams that get the "we have to have all 30 teams represented" pity spots.

The only guys that look remotely worthy thus far are Happ and Pillar. I'm sure Donaldson would be a shoo-in if he as healthy.

Happ is probably a top 25 pitcher in the league this year so him going to the all Star game would have nothing to do with pity

A draft would be pretty cool.

That got mocked when the NFL did it, and it didn’t work with the NHL either, the NFL went back to conferences while the NHL chose the division 3-3 that actually seems to be working.

Nothing ever works for the Pro Bowl. And I wouldn't say it didn't work in the NHL. They just took advantage of the reduced number of divisions and got creative with it.
