OT: MLB 2020 Discussion Opening Day and beyond

Eh freaking Diaz did that...the Mets were pretty much down to their ninth pitcher in the pen in the tenth (clean inning or not) since they didn't want to use Lugo back-to-back, already used Diaz and Wilson back-to-back, and pitched Betances and Familia as well, with other guys like Gsellman, Brach and Hughes on the shelf. They should have just pitched Drew Smith in the 10th but when in doubt the vet always gets the first crack, whatever sport it is.

The Extra Inning rule was GARBAGE.

It essentially gave the Braves the win over NY.

And it didn't give Strickland a shot at having potentially a clean inning of work.

Wouldn't even be talking about it if Diaz could for ONCE as a Met save back-to-back games.

at least there's only 58 games left for us to have to watch this shit until next season...

and yeah, the extra inning runner rule is beyond busch league. it's little league

Well to be fair...

You're not going to win many games if you only score 2 runs anyway.

If the Mets even managed to scratch out one more run to make it a 3-1 game, that homerun by the Braves in the 9th off of Diaz would've been a footnote.

So really, what does the MLB do? Make the Marlins forfit their next two weeks of games? And the Phillies? Those guys were exposed to players playing yesterday and won’t show signs or test positive for days if not weeks.

I mean we don’t know ‘how’ all the Marlins got it but when you travel in an out of a hotbed without a bubble it’s just a matter of when, not if disaster strikes. Players didn’t care about safety as much as they didn’t want a bubble and now they’re paying for it.

I briefly watched a bit of a game to see that how that virtual crowd looked on tv, I thought it looked stupid but I don't know why guys weren't wearing masks in the dugout and clubhouses and forget the dugout they can sit in the stands away from each other since there's no fans and thousands of empty sests.

It really didn't seem like the MLB was enforcing or putting into rule a few simple things that would help.

It’ll be freaking worse in the NFL and college football. Larger rosters, more people in at risk demos, it can spread infinitely easier during play and (in the NFL’s case) minuscule taxi squads.
