The Flames are a well-constructed team. We have forward lines with no chemistry, players playing out of position (Simmonds at LW, etc), D pairs that don't mesh well together, etc.

Flames are a good team. We are not

Just compare the rosters
The Flames made the big trade during the off-season, but otherwise are pretty close to the same roster that had just last year underperformed. The Flames finished with 84 points, 2 points above .500. The trade they made was the epitome of a hockey trade, current good, for current/expected good. That's to say, they didn't rob peter to pay paul, they traded john 1 for juan 1.

Are you for real? Flames have done a lot of shitty things and smart things both at the same time, just like any other team and they shouldn't be any sort of blueprint for constructing a team. They are pretty much the same just their on ice sh% jumped like 40 percent.

Just the perfect blend of innocence, aggressiveness, and charm. Is he smiling? Smirking? Angry? Sad? Alone? You can never quite tell. If his hair was longer I'd have to see a doctor.

I know, he needs a classic look to enhance his boyish looks..

Their Defense is better due to experience of their top guys, but otherwise that team is NOT better on paper.

Better coaching (and thus better special teams) and a team that is buying in.

Their goaltending hasnt even been good either.

The type of trade that Hextall made 0 times in 4 years.

Their on-ice shooting % didnt just jump by coincidence.

You mean those 14 shorties they have on the year are all on their tactics?

It partially is, yes. Im not sure what youre suggesting. Do you think their tremendous 1st half is luck? Peters teams in Carolina always had amazing underlying numbers but he didnt have much skill to work with like he does in Calgary.

Flames have worse 5on5 corsi compared to last year though and canes have even better when compared to last season. Could it be that his role in driving those numbers was overstated?
