The old days the goalie was always the issue in the SO. Haven't checked the numbers but feel like Hart has been really solid, just not able to score for him.

You're right. In the last three years the Sv% has been good, the S% has been bad, and the team is only one game under .500 in the shootout. Which is great by Flyer standards.

Hart is .730 in 11 shootouts in that time going 4-7, and Elliott is .762 in 5 shootouts going 2-3.

It's kind of surprising to me that Karlsson, Marchessault, etc haven't managed to outscore that in four years. Even Stone or Patches even though they haven't been there quite as long.

Tampa was pretty middling overall until about 2013ish or so but considering all the talent they've had (Stammer included) it's a surprise their leader only has 15. Vinny, MSL, Kuch is almost 10 years into his career, etc.

Toews was a monster at the SO early in his career.

I know it's because it's such a short history, but a Defenseman making this list is batshit.

The only defensemen is on a team where the leader has 5 goals. Something that will even out over time.


Biggest surprise on that list is Carolina's leader having only 10 and the record belonging to a guy who hasn't played for the Canes for almost a decade. Something seems off there, unless the Canes also really stink at shootouts.

@Beef Invictus would be shocked and appalled to see that Martin Erat has a positive franchise record in anything.

Really have to wonder if there's something institutional rather than just being the team to occupy the tail. Like being told to actively avoid studying film and practicing and just be spontaneous. The opponent can't know what you're planning to do if there is no plan, right?
