What if Montreal wins?

First, I will be dead from the nuclear-level explosion of fan adulation that will destroy the time-space fabric around the Greater Montreal area. Toronto will collapse on itself, creating a black hole of emo. Basically, all of Canada is destroyed. Vancouver probably survives.

Beyond that, a Montreal win would be the most expansive of Rorschach tests of hockey guy takes:
  • The regular season means nothing
  • Just need a hot goalie
  • Veteran presence (Perry and Staal) makes all the difference
  • Play the kids
  • Grind it out, low-event hockey rules in the playoffs
  • Won it for Evans

Ah the pre-salary cap era with super teams. Team should have 10 HoFer’s once Datsyuk gets in.

Most of these guys were 35+ years old & past their prime but still relatively good players in the general standard.

And they won it again just six years later. Imagine what it's like to be a fan of an organization that has a pulse.

And Hašek was already "too old" back then. 37! Then wins it again with Det as 43 years old. And then in 2011 leads the KHL in shutouts. Lol
