Buff is a solid addition to basically any team in the league, he's a high quality defenceman who brings a serious skill set to the ice. He's been excellent in the Peg and has done nothing but make them a better team.

One critical difference between Lucic and the Messier situation is that Messier obviously didn't give a **** about Vancouver and felt entitled anyways, and Lucic obviously does have an attachment to the city.

Odds that the team hates him on arrival are okay, but odds that they're willing to work to get over it are okay too (we've seen it happen in other teams). Not the Messier situation at all.
