I'm starting to think Julien is a bad coach. Sending Mete down and keeping Kulak while playing Schlemko, Benn and Ouellet over Mete and Reilly.
I feel the Schlemko, Benn, Ouellet trio should be called the turn over specialists.
Kulak's looked good since being called up. We'll see how long that lasts. But he's been a good addition so far.
As for Mete, sending him to the AHL has nothing to do with choosing Schlemko, Benn, Ouellet over him. In fact, it actually shows they choose Mete over them because by sending him down, they're giving him an opportunity to play 20+ minutes with PP time and develop. It tells me that they have their eye on the future and they're looking to ensure Mete will be ready when he gets back.
As for Reilly, I don't know why he was scratched for a few consecutive games. I read somewhere that he doesn't seem to grasp what the coaches are asking him to work on at practice. I don't know how much truth there is to that. However, he looks like he's coming back in the line-up against the Rangers and already that's an improvement, even if he's on the third pair. I like that Kulak is with Weber simply because I think he's a better fit than Schlemko. But Reilly getting into the line-up could be the start of him working his way to playing with Weber.
