Will Babcock be fired if the Leafs/Pens game is a shutout loss?

L6, not sure what change needs to be done to turn this around. Talents are here, just cannot execute it and win some games.

Here's the thing.

Let's say Keefe is Dubas' guy... why would you fire Babcock now and bring him in? If it doesnt turn around almost immediately then all of a sudden he is under fire by the fans and media and Dubas is on the hot seat now because he brought in this rookie coach who is failing. Really a tough spot for everyone. They need to get going... the losses wint help until it's too late.

Babcock should have been fired last spring. It was extremely obvious this team was never going to take the next step with him by then. I'll admit I never expected a step back this large but their ceiling was always first round.

Ultimately it is Shanahans fault for throwing that term and $$ out in the first place. With any normal contract it's an easy decision and made in the spring.
