Judging by fan reactions, Flame fans and Hurricane fans seem to be pretty happy with their new players.

That’s because we are rightly happy with our amazing players and they are wrongly happy with their trash players. We won this trade by a generational margin, and no possible future event could change that.

Nuh uh, it’s quite clear that our players are far superior. Just look, Hanifin likes the snow here in Calgary. Did Hamilton ever say he liked snow, no he did not and therefore broke team chemistry. Clearly the deal breaker right there.

Hamilton enjoyed the monochromatic oeuvre created by the snow, and complained that none of his teammates appreciated it properly.

Nobody was 'fleeced'. So far, it's simply a rare win-win trade.

Yup. Another day goes by and yet again both sides are thrilled with what they got.

Ferland and Hamilton both with an assist tonight. Lindholm with another beautiful goal and Hanifin, who was criticised for needing to be sheltered, had the most minutes of all dmen tonight in a shutout victory.

I hope both teams do some damage this year

As a Ranger fan, following the ‘Canes game.

Don’t think that there’s a Flame’s fan that would disagree with you. The only complaint that you’ll ever hear is about his consistency.

Always rooting for him!

I think even Treliving wanted to keep him. With his quotes in the press in sounded like he was afraid the Flames just wouldn't be able to afford him as a UFA, which makes sense given they will have Tkachuk's contract to do after this season.

Question for Canes fans on Lindholm. Was he always chippy and aggressive on the puck? I did not expect that at all when we acquired him. He has worked very well on the top line because of it.

He had it as an element that he used less often then we would have preferred. usually when he did so he was a better player. Hope he works out well for you.

Ferland had a beauty sequence the other night where he laid out Sam Girard, turned around and laid out Tyson Jost, and then took down Erik Johnson in a fight. He then scored a goal later in the game.

Ferland and Lindholm both are excelling in their new roles with identical stat lines of 8gp 5g 3a 8p, though Lindholm has been getting about 4 more minutes a game (2 of it on PK though). Hanifin has also been extremely impressive, he's been a rock defensively carrying a rookie dman in Andersson.

What's most impressive for Ferland is that he's already generated 31 shots despite playing only 15:59 TOI with 2nd PP duties. That's 3.88 shots per game, vs the 1.87 he posted last year (career high in that stat). He's currently on pace for 300+ shots and 200+ hits - Alex Ovechkin is the only player to do that since the lockout. I doubt he keeps that shooting pace up but he should be able to crack 250 shots.

I think he's a good bet to score 30-35 goals and 50-60 points this season so long as he isn't sent to the 4th line at the first sign of a cold streak.

To me he's emerged as one of the premier power forwards in today's game.

Way too early to conclude this. He had hot streaks last year in Calgary too, just like his current hot streak. It's only been 8 games to start the season. I doubt he scores 30 goals or 60 points. I think something like 25 and 25 is more likely. Let's revisit this at about the 30 game mark; it'll be interesting.
