That’s sort of like the Kronwall. In a position to deliver a clean check to the body, but chooses instead to rise into the hit with his feet leaving the ice at the moment of contact to ensure that it ends up unnecessarily high and dangerous.

This is what a lot of people seem to glaze over. He lines it up nicely but then launches his trajectory upward into the hit, which invariably will cause quite a lot of violent head contact.

He's skating in from Morrissey's left. If he was trying to line up a head shot, why not put his right shoulder into Morrissey's chin? The fact that he turns and throws this hit with his left shoulder, with the left elbow tucked, seems to suggest that he's at least trying to throw a clean hit here, even if the outcome was a slightly off balance Morrissey running face first into his tucked elbow.

Even on full speed and zoomed out, I can clearly see an exaggerated upward launch to the hit.

Maybe he didn't flat out jump into it ala raffi torres but if anything he's on the tips of his toes at contact and extends his upper body as much as he can, as well.

Not even close. One is what hanging an elbow actually is. Malone's elbow, Messier, Bure on Churla are elbows.

Left his feet and used his elbow. Since it's barely been a month since he picked up 3 for running Dunn from behind, I would imagine he's going to be hearing from the DOPS dopes again.

Not an elbow. Pospisil didn't leave his feet prior to the hit. And Morrissey falling is the only reason it become a "headshot".

Regardless, doesn't look like there's going to be a suspension which is the right call.
