 we are still in July , summer is still there . Relax

By the way ,

1) 8th draft; Done and it seems that it's very well done
2) 8th summer to sign UFAs ; Done ; 3 x signings
3) 8th summer to offersheet RFAs; Done . One of the top RFA available signs with us, but ...
4) 8th summer to re-sign his own RFAs ; Already done
5) 8th summer to make off season trades ; Done with Shaw traded

Great summer for our GM yet :5:

1) Meaningless.
2) Pointless.
3) But...he didn't. Again, pointless.
4) Wow...good job. You signed your own average young RFAs like every other team. Bravo.
5) Yet again, pointless.

Great summer ya...if 1/10 is your passing grade.

Agree, he’s had a poor showing thus far...the team is slightly worse and I don’t buy the kids will fill the roster.

He needs to add, especially that #1 LHD, I have no confidence in Mete whatsoever

There won't be any other moves until training camp. He will try to go after bargains to fill needs or trade 4th liners that are in abundance for a pick or bargain type player. The worst part is that minimum 4 players with 1 way contracts will be in Laval and about 5 million of cap space dedicated to that. Unless some youngster surprises, the roster will be likely the same next season.

If that’s the case then he should be fired

That's the conundrum we're facing. Do we stick with him and hope he'll turn things around or take our chances with someone who might come to learn on the job if we can't find a competent GM.
This is so, so sad. Elite organizations don't think like this. They hire Elite.

Why are people so loyal to Bergevin? I don't get it.
I don’t get it either... he did nothing for improve his team. Hes only waiting for a prospect. His first 2/3 years were good. After thats. He just screwed the teAm with no vision at all

I must really be missing something when it comes to Bergevin.

Bergevin is a good looking and masculine man, the anti-Gauthier, so he will necessarily inspire loyalty and devotion on that basis alone. It's an instinctive response for many.

Do those same loyal people cover their ears when he opens his mouth?

He might sound good to some people the way that Trump, Ford, and Johnson do.

I recall one guy on this forum explicitly saying that he liked Bergevin's personality.
