MAF + a small add to Pittsburgh to buy out Bjugstad makes sense.

Or to Carolina to take Gardiner, retain 1.5m and flip him.

Reallocating cap in this way would be on brand for Carolina. Gardiner is in the way (Slavin/Skjei/Fleury and Bean in the AHL). Flip Mrazek, probably with some retention, and the net cap effect is modest.

Lol on what planet is the Penguins window closed but the Oilers window still open?

The Oilers are a garbage fire outside of McDavid and Draisaitl.

Draisitl is 24 and mcdavid is 23. Malkin 34, Crosby 33.

Hey I do not think pitts window is closed but 10 years in age is a fair bit. Also remove syd and geno from pitt and are they going to be good either?

Gardiner + one of Reimer/Mrazek for MA Fleury would be palatable

Fleury has no value with that Cap hit and a 10 team NTC. Vegas will have to eat a bad contract if they want to move him.

Well, I take that back with the off-chance that Vegas gets a senile JR special because he can't help himself but to acquire old retreads.

I'm likely in the minority on this, but I'd be ok with Fleury coming to Detroit(and I am aware he has a no trade list-but Stevie can talk him over). He and Bernier can split duties until one of the youngsters(or Askarov) emerges from the minors.

Deal #1
Flower(no retention) + 1rd. pick(24-31OA)
for
2020 Edm. 2nd(45OA) + Vegas 2021 3rd.

Deal #2
Flower($2,000,000 retention) + 1rd. pick
for
2020 Edm. 2nd(45OA) + Wash, 2nd(58OA) + Vegas 2021 3rd.

Flame away

That's a pretty liberal (not in the political sense) use of what the sources cited said.

It doesn't take an insider to see that this is an untenable situation beyond this year for a number of reasons, though.

What is the source.

He’s been around enough to not say this while team still p,acing.

Penguins get Fleury at $3.5 million
Habs get a 2nd or 3rd from Vegas, but eat half of Fleury's contract
Vegas gets DeSmith

Habs get a pick at only the cost of money and cap space, the Knights save money and get a decent backup to Lehner and JR can jerk off to the fact that he re-aqcuired another retread. Wins all around.
You think the Habs are willing to take on $3.5m cap for two years for a very late 2nd or 3rd? Come on man, that's absurd. Other teams win at the expense of the Habs.

lol Oilers want him?

Koskinen has better stats. We don't have cap space to burn on a backup making 3 million more than the starter.
