you guys just got Matthew Tkachuk. Unless you want to accelerate your team and swap Kreider for Tkachuk...
why would we do something so stupid? we didn't hire Chia or Benning

Flames should have upped their offer when Drouin was available before the TD. Too late now without a huge over payment.

Some of those are absolutely true. Some just aren't even in the same ball park. Landy is better than Kyle Okposo for instance, and it's not even really close. I don't think Dylan Larkin (whom I like) is better than Landy either. Gallagher? Absolutely not. Looks like you were just trying to name some names to complete a list that you knew wasn't true. Rick Nash even. Hilarious. Bobby Ryan isn't even close to the complete player Landy is either.

Landy is EASILY a top 50 forward in the game.

YES. I. DO. Jagr and Marleau are the debatable names. all the others you bolded... Gallagher, nash, Ryan, Oshie, Toffoli, Eichel, Etc I would pick over landeskog if i could pick right now without a doubt.

Really? Can't wait to hear the explanation for Chris Kreider. Please do it, seriously. Can't wait. Oh, and Gallagher. Do tell. Or Ryan? Comparable numbers, undeniably inferior in every other facet of the game? So much ignorance.

lol, obviously not but why would you need a top 6 LW so badly? Tkachuk could pull a Johnny G rookie season. Calgary seems to have great luck with rookies.
How would I know, I didn't start this thread. Below was my initial response.

If the Flames acquire another top 9 forward it will be in a trade for Wideman, the Flames simply do not have the cap space to add salary and are not yet in a position to be moving much in terms of futures just yet. Right now the Flames technically have lots of cap space (just shy of $15 million), but once they sign Gaudreau and Monahan that could be down to a million remaining with a defenseman left to sign.

I am not down on Wideman like most are and think he will bounce back this year but I do believe at this point the only thing we will get for him is an older top 9 winger that also has an undesirable contract. With Wideman having a NMC I do believe that team will at least have to be one he feels is in playoff contention.

The name I keep coming back to is Ales Hemsky. Dallas has lost a few defenders this summer and have the firepower to soften the blow of losing Hemsky. The Stars are a good enough team that I do not see Wideman saying no to a deal and I think Hemsky would be a pretty good fit on a line with Bennett and one of Tkachuk/Shinkaruk.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Brouwer
Frolik - Backlund - Chiasson
I am not a huge fan of Chiasson being here but I think he is the best fit to play with those two out of him, Bouma and Ferland
Tkachuk/Shinkaruk - Bennett - Hemsky
Bouma - Stajan - Ferland

I have no problem giving up a LW, but I don't think Calgary has anything we really need. I'd rather give you Bailey for a low pick so we open a roster spot and you get a young LW on the cheap.

Calgary probably couldn't do a 1 for 1 trade -- if we had the room to retain a guy making 3.3m for around 30 points, we probably would've just kept Colborne, who basically did the same "play everywhere in your bottom nine" thing, but with more size.

So unless you need a depth RHD, I don't see how we'd be able to make Bailey work.

Two different things: Forwards who are currently better than Landeskog and forwards who you'd pick before Landeskog in some sort of fantasy draft...
Landeskog wasnt 2oa pick and the youngest captain ever for nothing and is clearly atleast better than those named above ;D funny reading though

So, it's safe to say Landeskog is a top50 forward after seeing that list. I would even say he is top40. I'm seeing 11 guys he is better than plus another 3 youngsters who have not passed him yet, and another 5 or so that's qustioanble.

Avs currently have the best defense they've had in years (not saying much). Defense isn't as big of a priority. Their biggest problem right now is wingers. They can't afford to trade their best one. I don't see how Duchene or Landeskog could be on the trade market right now.
