The NCAA title game this year is on April 8th (Harvard is good enough to go all the way) and the NHL season ends 5 days later. Unless he is injured, he will be making his Habs debut at some point this season. It's one of those situations where his leverage is getting the ELC started to burn year 1 this year.

Not to be a wet blanket, because the Crimson are a solid team, but reaching the Frozen Four would be quite an achievement.

The ECAC is not highly regarded among the college conferences and to this point Harvard has benefitted from playing a mediocre schedule; with the exception of a couple of notable games.

The upcoming Beanpot Tournament should provide a clearer picture and give scouts a good chance to see just where Farrell is in terms of his pro potential.

I would say the Hobey is between Farrell, Fantilli, and a goalie (probably the Qpac goalie) at this point.

We are talking about a single game elimination tournament, with top end talent like Harvard has I would not rule them out. My point was more that even if they go all the way, there will be NHL games left for him to play at season's end.

Harvard shutout by Quinnipiac, 3-0, in meeting of ECAC's top two teams.

According to line charts Farrell skated with Karpa and Coronato.

Contrast between the Crimson and Quinnipiac is drastic - Harvard is generally smaller with a lot of first and second round draft picks.

Quinnipiac is a bigger, older team featuring graduates and transfers. Skylar Brind'amour scored for the Bobcats.

I am a massive Farrell fan but I don’t like comparing PPG in the NCAA. There are really big age gaps and Farrell is in his D+3 season. As much as he is dominating I would expect a 21 to do better than a 18, 19 or 20 year old. They are much more physically and mentally mature.

Yeah age is a huge factor Andy Miele was not even good enough for the NHL. Not saying that Farrell will bust.

Ironic how pretty much most of Princeton's top scorers are from Massachusetts while Harvard has six players who grew up playing in New Jersey and a goalie who played right across the river in Pennsylvania.

There's really no debate. He's made it pretty clear he wants to turn pro ASAP and there is no point in him going back to Harvard to dominate another 30-35 game season.
