Look at Luke’s track record. Huge amounts of success as a Head Coach in the AHL, experience as an assistant in the NHL. JJ was what, an assistant coach in the ECHL before? There’s no comparison.
JJD had a good resume too before joining the Habs. He was assistant coach for NYRs farm team. Now I'm not saying that JJD didn't turn out to be a bad coach for us but we'll have to wait and see with this hire.

Regarding the Habs Twitter account announcement of this hiring...

I think they got the number of games he played wrong, i'm pretty sure Luke Richardson played well over 600 NHL games over his career

They took a long time to settle on Luke which means they did their homework.

I hope Julien adjusts his system to more of a man to man than a zone. Alzner never figured it out.

He has experience and went through a personal tragedy. So we will see how he is going forward. But at least it isn't someone who has no coaching track record to speak of.

He transitioned from playing with Ottawa to coaching with Ottawa during the same season, if this is a reference to Burrows, everyone has to start somewhere!

You’d be a great hiring manager.

“Limited experience? That’s fine!”

Experience is not strictly defined within NHL or AHL only, it's subjective to those who take the decision.

Let's say you are a great coach but stocked in the hierarchy for 5 years +
some people see your talent and don't want to wait for you to gradually climb the ladder so they hire you straight away.

Yeah, I can't wait to have Benn, Schlemko, Weber, Alzner and co running after McDavid, Matthews, Marner and co.
