JJD had a good resume too before joining the Habs. He was assistant coach for NYRs farm team. Now I'm not saying that JJD didn't turn out to be a bad coach for us but we'll have to wait and see with this hire.

Interesting to note that Luke Richardson, is another one of those players who retired and went straight behind the bench.
Retired from the Sens in 08-09...became an assistant coach with the Sens the following season.

He has experience and went through a personal tragedy. So we will see how he is going forward. But at least it isn't someone who has no coaching track record to speak of.
They took a long time to settle on Luke which means they did their homework.

He transitioned from playing with Ottawa to coaching with Ottawa during the same season, if this is a reference to Burrows, everyone has to start somewhere!

Experience is not strictly defined within NHL or AHL only, it's subjective to those who take the decision.
Let's say you are a great coach but stocked in the hierarchy for 5 years +
some people see your talent and don't want to wait for you to gradually climb the ladder so they hire you straight away.

Ceci played a total of 30 games in the AHL under Richardson. He had 3 goals and 18 assists and was a +13 in those 30 games. Ceci got ruined in the NHL- not by Richardson.
