Upside down world.

I'm not sure who is bringing the Tavares line down more, marner or Tavares?

Tavares looks okay at time whereas marner looks like he's a rookie trying to make the team except he lacks the effort a rookie should have.

Still think Rielly and marner have to wake up.

Hyman comes back...make Kapanen become an elite 4th line winger and tell him to finish his checks with his speed.

When Hyman comes back, Nytro - Goat - Moore is going to be a terrorizing 4th line. Timashov is earning his place in this league. He's playing a real gritty brand of hockey. Soon to be an all Marlie grad 4th line.

technically

hyman, nylander, kapanen, johnsson, dermott, sandin are also marlies graduates

Let's stay positive since it's a win. We can apparently beat a team like Detroit even with our top six MIA and a so-so game from our defense as well.

Good
Kerfoot
Mikheyev
Moore
Shore
Gauthier
Timashov

Fine
Matthews
Johnsson
Kapanen
Ceci
Muzzin
Barrie
Holl
Andersen

Bad
Nylander
Tavares
Marner
Rielly
Sandin

Sandin had a decent game. I thought he was better than Holl.

Good job getting the 2 points. Still need to clear up some things.

Marner had some decent plays but overall a poor game. Nylander was also poor tonight. Matthews and Tavares were average. Need the big 4 to start being elite

Who’s your winner of the basketball in this one, and why is it Gauthier?

Should be either Goat or Timashov. Or just give it to the whole 4th line.

4th line with elite crossover ball handling. Stay woke

good win.

need every point possible.

... if the playoffs started today we'd be facing boston again in round 1 with them having home ice. :sarcasm:
I honestly expect Boston-Toronto again this year

Although Tampa isn't looking too hot so Boston might finish 1st in the Atlantic

Nylander ?
Tavares
Marner
Rielly ?
Sandin ?

Sandin played a solid game and made some great passes under pressure.

Nylander played bad ? I thought he was his usual self.

Reilly played a lot better and I would not put him in the bad category.

A square peg can fit in a round hole, though ;)

I'm worried because of the external factors. If this was just a regular slow start I'd brush it off, but given his insane demands, our overpayment and his awkwardness since, it concerns me.

His game really thrives off of his creativity and confidence .. Something tells me he's just not feeling that confident out there for one reason or another. His ability to make the right high risk plays versus the bad risk plays is a big reason why he was successful. He's looking like he's just not feeling it right now.

I think he's in his own head right now. Combine that with Tavares not quite on his own game and Kapanen struggling on his off-wing, and I think it's a collective struggle. I believe there's too much talent there for them to not be successful .. Elite? We'll see.

Would be interesting to see Hyman come back and add some stability to that line's dynamic .. That could be the straw that stirs the drink there.
