Guys - take this to the travel board. Thanks!

The travel business was raised here because the announced reason for Hamonic's request for a trade from NYI a while ago was the desire to be close to family. He withdrew the request but family doubtless remains a consideration. If you pay a lot for a player, you want him to be more or less content. The point of the discussion is that in real life terms, Toronto is one of the better destinations for Hamonic with respect to travel to Hamonic's family. No need for you to play board janitor.

Islanders want 2 1sts for Hamonic?

That was too much for Kessel let alone a player that has never score more than 5 goals or 33 points in a season.

Garth Snow is delusional.

The best offer is Kerby Rychel and pick (not a 1st).

Yes 2 firsts is too much but using points to discredit a Dman is silly.

17th+ Carrick+ Bracco/Rychel or someone like that was likely the offer doubt Lou goes much more than that.

Snow may be hoping to get an auction going. And even if he accepts an offer this afternoon, it may not be announced until the draft itself. We may not know the result of the Leaf offer for a while yet. It may not have been turned down.

stepan just got 7th oa and i don't see that much difference in the 2.

Not when you look at contracts.

Bozak is one year to UFA, worse defensively, less consistent point-wise, but has had a better season. Also is better on faceoffs which is something I think teams care about.

So which is it? A total horse defensively? Or just meh?

These 2 posts do not line up.
Do I trust the isles fan who presumably watches him more?

Or the leafs fan who supposedly has the numbers to back it up...

I genuinely don't know what to think.

Anyone can look at numbers and draw a conclusion. I'd go with the person that actually watches him play, personally.

He's a solid player. Not uncommon to see him gain the offensive zone by carrying the puck in deep and setting up shop behind the net. He's not a good fighter, but will never back away from an altercation. Another plus, he really (and I mean REALLY) gets under Malkin's skin.

Off the ice, he's an absolute stand-up guy and will instantly improve the locker room. Here's a little backstory:

Please god do not waste multiple firsts on this oft injured 3/4. If we are going to go after somebody and spend some real assets for them please let it be for a player worth the expenditure-Trouba, Hannafin, etc.

I'm sure plenty of teams have made offers, just none that suit Snow apparently.

I wouldn't be surprised if Snow prefers to put him in a package for a bigger fish though.

I wouldn't be surprised that given it's draft day, Snow may already have a deal in place involving a 1st and the deal hinges on whether a certain prospect will be available with said pick.

Isles probably don't want to risk another Leafs player after Grabovski and Kulemin.

I'd probabky gived up this years first and second but not two firsts. Hamonic is not worth what people are saying

Valuewise, and perception wise Ariz believes they got their top line centre, plus factor in age, numbers don't tell the whole story, hence the discrepancy even here with gaging Hamonic's value and what we would give up ect.

Erase the names and I would have to agree with you, but as it stands no way we could get anywhere near that return for Bozak or he would have been gone by now imo.

Just want to note that all of this is about convincing JT to resign here. Getting a rental like Bozak does not do that.

I don't think I'd move Bozak. Importance of depth at C can't be understated. With Bozak gone, one injury and we look mighty thin. JVR is far more replaceable than Bozak.
