It's good to have a couple of goalie prospects between him and Woll.

An example of how bad his team was: his team's highest scorer had 48 points, and they only had four players with over 30 points, which is brutal for the CHL.

I really like Scott but I'm real biased for raiders lol. And yeah, the team was awful.

Poor kid played on the worst team in WHL - Mess would have a better idea

Here is a good read:

I think the raiders were the youngest team in the WHL last year so hopefully they are ready to compete this year. We just drafted kaiden Guhle 1st overall in the whl draft so they should be improved defensively and be able to help out Scott a bit more.

Poor man's Carey Price is the way this player should be viewed.

I'd expect Scott might be among the goalies competing for the next WJC for Canada.

I actually really really like this pick. Expect Scott to have a big season next year. Classic slow developing goalie. Could be a diamond in the rough here.

A lot of scouting reports on him also seem less than thrilling.

But goalies development is such voodoo just got to hope the Leafs scouts saw something with him they really liked

• Scott had a busy 2016-17 season, appearing in 50 games for Prince Albert with a 12-31-3 record (3.69 GAA, .895 SV%, 2 SO).

• After being selected ninth overall in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft, Scott went 13-9-2 in his rookie season with a 3.24 goals-against average, .892 SV% and one shutout.

• Scott was named the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League’s Top Goaltender in 2013-14 after leading the Calgary Northstar Sabres to an Alberta Cup AAA tournament championship.

• Internationally, Scott represented Canada at the 2017 Under-18 World Championship and captured a gold medal with Canada White at the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge (2.78 GAA, .900 SV%).

• Models his style of play after Canadiens goaltender Carey Price.

You mean lose to the Rangers in six?

He pushed Rylan Parenteau aside, who had much better stats the previous year. Think you're determinately looking at a club that fell apart.

should we be hoping he gets traded next season? is Prince Albert looking like they will be terrible again?

He won't be traded. Raiders will be bad again but they're young. His 19 year old season raiders should be at least competing for playoffs.

oh well he can practice getting peppered by pucks, best way to develop would be to be peppered by shots

I wanted the Leafs to pick a goalie in this draft. We need a few goalie prospects. Look what happened when Andersen got injured we had zero depth and almost missed the playoffs because of it. It's always good to have some goalie depth.

in the next 2 years if Andersen gets injured we are stuck with Bibeau or Sparks either way both of which i dont have much hope in. Scott likely wont be NHL ready until Andersen is resigned or we moved on. Woll 3 more years i would think

It's always good to have them ready for when Andersen leaves. If we don't draft any we are stuck with nothing. I'm sure the Leafs are gonna address the backup situation in free agency just in case Andersen gets injured.

He's one of the better goalies out there.

Think Evan Fitzpatrick. Both highly touted as young guys, stuck on awful teams (both of which I follow), and both are their team's best players.

Scott is a good one. He's in that 2nd tier of goalies available in this draft, and this pick was excellent value for him.
