Housley will never play Pilut. He hates him.

Housley's father was a pilot. Phil was always seeking attention from his father, but Dad was always away for work. Missed hockey games, the school plays...all the other boys had their fathers there, but not young Phil.

As the years went on, Phil and his father's relationship improved, but Phil will always remember that he could never be good enough for his dad. Work always came first, and there was never a flight his father wouldn't take.

Now every time Phil hears someone say Pilut's name, he thinks back on all the days his dad wasn't there for him. He just wanted a catch. Was that so much to ask for?

Pilut should ask for a trade tonight, because he'll never see the ice while Phil Housley is the coach of the Buffalo Sabres.

Hahaha how does one hate Euro free agents? Like he has European players on this team, do they have to be drafted for him not to hate them? What a ridiculously specific group of people to dislike.

I think it's more likely that Antipin just wasn't a fit here

Dahlin is ok on a technicality, as a draft pick teenager. Phil won’t officially hate him until he can legally buy beer in Buffalo.

What the [insert profanity] you can't buy beer at 18 in Buffalo? What kind of backwards mentality is that .. your liver needs training, the earlier the better.

Oh we train, but like covert Rocky movie, in house parties and campfires, like cockroaches hiding from society. It is a travesty.

He'll be a regular in Buffalo before the end of the season. Patience, Sabre fans. Everything isn't a conspiracy/incompetence/punishment...
Are you sure it isn't "terrible asset management"? I'm pretty sure most things we don't like is "terrible asset management" these days.

EDIT: Or maybe you're just a <insert person we don't like> apologist!

I hear Pilut's agent is on the horn with the KHL right now and if Lawrence sits then he's on the next plane to St. Petersburg.

It is weird to hear Phil Housley on WGR talking about how Tage earned his spot on the roster. Same principles applied to defense, how is Pilut in Rochester or a healthy scratch when Nelson and Beauleau(sp) is in....

Because we've won 9 straight and they've both been largely fine, if not actually good.

We're still in November. Pilut is gonna play.

I’m not talking about recent play. His pre-season play was far superior to both the others. His great play in the AHL is no surprise.

Don't bet on it. If he does it will be for a cup of coffee. Both Beaulieu and Nelson are ahead of him along with Scandella. Only way Pilut gets in there is another injury.(Or if we go on a losing streak)

Pilut going to Rochester was a Botterill decision, that's not up to Housley much. Housley's comments about Thompson are normal coach speak trying to be supportive of a player. Not much to be bothered about. Beaulieu will get traded before the end of the season, so expect Pilut to get a chance.
