I think he might look even faster/more dangerous/more confident this year. It's amazing watching a player who can score 2-3 points without even playing his A or B game. He leads the charge for the Wild and the feeling that they can always come back. This team needs to win though as that kind of tenacity isn't there unless it's being rewarded.

His English is getting better, remember he didn't know one word when he arrived here.

He did know one word, quite a bit more, but he wasn't at all comfortable speaking it yet. Dumba said he was impressed with how well he spoke English when he first arrived.

Is it safe to finally say that he is, by far, the best player this organization has ever had? Some people even last year thought it was still Gaborik but c’mon, its not close. Gabby was good, sometimes really good but he was never this good.

Absolutely.

I like how he goes both sides. Mostly high, but he also slipped one in between the legs- as a goalie, it's pretty impossible to prepare. One thing he does on all of his shots is shoot w/o a "tell" that he is going to, so goalie is always late reacting. Also doesn't worry about power, just getting shot off quickly.

While he is deceptive, he doesn't really do a traditional deke move.

Hard to prepare for as a goalie. You almost have to treat it like a soccer goalie treats a penalty- guess on one side or the other.

The Ovechkin vs. Crosby era ends. The era of McDavid vs. Matthews vs. Kaprizov is coming.
