Have there been any rumors that Buchnevich could be traded to a better team? This is the last season of his contract with Severstal.

Well it's kinda early for that as Severstal can still make playoffs, in theory, at least.

But it would definitely make sense for them to trade him. The only rational reason against trading him is the possibility to get more money for his rights later but that would seem like a huge gamble for a minor gain.

Overall, I'd say there is maybe 10% chance he won't get traded.

Considering he's a foreigner there are hardly any worse players you can sign. Admiral just signed a player who was by all means a serviceable NHLer last year, Amur went with one who failed to stick in the AHL.
