Unfortunately he doesn't care at all. He has more than enough money to lose some on the Oilers. He cares more about employing his friends that he does about a few million dollars, that is very, VERY clear at this point.

Could be. But, this is still a new situation. So far as owner he got to ride the hope from the cup run. Then the hope of a bunch of 1st overall picks. Then the allure of getting seats in the new arena combined with McDavid. Finally, there is nothing really left to make the fans have unrealistic hope about the future of this team. Katz and his friends have f-ed up everything. They did the impossible and created a trash team around McDavid, basically doomed next year already with no cap space. Minimal good prospects in the pipeline. Management all look like bumbling fools that inspire zero confidence.

I know it's still unlikely he cares much, but at least we're finally hitting a point where the situation can get a bit of attention from him because of potential lost revenue.

Cause we’ve seen Kosko play well behind good defence. And Talbot has not. We’ve seen Kosko with the ability to save our hides when our defence is ****, Talbot has not.

Now I don’t know if Kosko is good enough to overcome this trash heap of a team, I really don’t. But what I can guarantee is that his chances of that are better than Talbots because he is better than Talbot.

We've seen a good 10 games out of Koskinen. He's been pure trash since.

You can't guarantee a thing. Just as clueless as the organization is.

Chiarelli has has ****ed this team for years to come. It’s going to be a minimum 3 year job to build a winner and that’s IF we get a GM who knows what the hell they’re doing. We have 2 players worth keeping but honestly subjecting McDavid to rebuild v4.0 is cruel and unusual punishment. I would not blame him whatsoever if he requested a trade because we’d get a king’s ransom for him. But more realistically, keep him and trade/buyout/release every other single player on the roster.
RNH: 1st rounder + mid-level prospect.
Drai: 1st rounder + additional picks + top tier prospect.

Nurse: 1st rounder + additional low pick.
Chiasson (at trade deadline): 3rd rounder.
Klefbom: I would be okay with keeping Klef.
Talbot: anything higher than a 3rd rounder would be great.
Puljujarvi: trade for a prospect of similar value who needs a change of scenery.
Russell: 3rd rounder
Kassian/Rattie/Khaira/Benning/Petrovic/Reider/Brodziak: anything.
Attach one of the obtained 1st rounder + additional pick + salary retained to whoever will take Lucic.
Aim for top 3 pick for the next 3 years and we might have a chance to have an elite team while McDavid still has years left on his contract. First and foremost before any other moves, every single front office employee is gone, including both Gretzky’s. Nothing will change with this franchise until the rotting deadweight is excised. All those guys are a cancer.
Also, I’ll trade one of my jerseys for a noose to hang myself. **** this team.

Ok f*** off.

Nicholson: "We are not rebuilding, we are building"

Na man, you rebuilding, this franchise is depleted

Rebuild 1: Gagner, Cogliano, Nilsson
Rebuild 2: Eberle, Hall, RNH
Rebuild 2.5: Yakupov, Schultz
Rebuild 3: Draisaitl, McDavid, Nurse
Rebuild 4: Hughes...?

Has a team ever fired their coach twice in the same year?

Just call it a mercy firing, he doesn't deserve this crap.
I wouldn’t call it a mercy firing. Team is brutal even when healthy. Todd got more out of this group and if it’s true Hitchcock has been telling management who to acquire he can walk to the airport.

Imagine how much fun we would have as fans if we had torts as our head coach, someone start a go-fund-me and make it happen. atleast at that point it would look like 1 person in the locker room gives a s--t

Things will never change till we get rid of Lowe, Mact and Howson. No matter who we bring in as the coach, GM etc. It starts at the very top and those goofs are the reason why we went in a decade of darkness and yet they still have a job here.

Having Katz as an owner is literally the worst thing.

This really is the truth. Katz is the problem, always has been, always will be. Unless he fires his friends, and brings somebody completely new in to rebuild the team, he will remain the problem. But of course we know this will never happen.

Go and watch the oil kings, hockey is a lot better and tickets are way cheaper

Nah, I'd rather cheer for a respectful NHL franchise that doesn't treat their fans like shit and still remain drunk on past glories. B.. b..but we won 5 cups!

Talbot did get a pretty bad sunburn on the back of his neck. Maybe that was the issue.

Talbot was pissed that he got pulled, it looked like he might've said something in the coach's direction. I mean he kind of did keep the team in it during the second period, I don't necessarily think pulling him was the right move there. There's 13 minutes left, let him ride it out.

That was the season right there, this team is dead. Just nothing there beyond their top two players.

Didn’t he do that once before this year already?

I believe he was gone for an extended period of time down the tunnel one game he was pulled. You may be correct that he never returned prior to this game.
