Not much help for teammates if he was pretty much anywhere else except like the bottom 6 teams he probably be closer to a point ppg.

Because he doesn't have offensive wizard Darryl Sutter coaching him anymore.

Do people understand how dysfunctional and how much of a joke Columbus is? You could put McDavid on Columbus and he would probably only score 80 points over 82 games.

I fully expect him to end up in Philly sometime between next year or the year after.

That's where he wanted to go the entire time. Fletcher is just an idiot and capped the team out on a bunch crap.

His quote unquote down seasons in Calgary also coincided with shoddy coaches and a lack of talent to play with. His top seasons came with healthy, skilled, & elite linemates.

In other words, he's probably fine and Columbus just lacks the overall talent to get the most out of Gaudreau. But as their younger talent gets better and they maybe hirer a better coach, he'll probably be too old to be a difference maker anymore.

Gaudreau and his camp really fumbled free agency and found a way to screw over two teams.

I'm watching Gaudreau have another game where he can't score despite multiple breakaways. This has happened many times this year. And you look at him on the bench and he is fuming about it.

All these haters making up shit about how he doesn't care are just fools.

And my other conclusion is that this talk about the team holding him back is only part of the story. Certainly it's true with his paltry secondary assists. But he could have scored 25 goals this year with all the opportunities he's had.

Gaudreau and his camp really fumbled free agency and found a way to screw over two teams.

Gaudreau and his wife moved where they wanted to move, that was their priority. And the Jackets should be happy to have him, he's the best they got and he'll look even better once the young talent catches up.

Weird how both Gaudreau and Huberdeau crashed down so quickly after those insane seasons.

Weird how people think "Gaudreau and Huberdeau" is a category, as opposed to a good player and a bad player.

When he scores a lot of points, it's all because he's so awesome. When he doesn't score a lot of points, it's because of his linemates. Sure, makes sense.

And a 99 point the season before that. 84 one more year back.

Can’t really comment too much on how he’s been playing this season but he’s definitely not surrounded with the same level of talent he had in Calgary.

Had Laine been able to play Johnny would have been PPG+. There are no other elite offensive players in jackets.

He’s always been good only one out of every three years. CBJ can’t complain unless he’s pacing for 60 again next year. Otherwise, they’re getting exactly what they should expect.

He's a small soft winger that needs his team mates to elevate his play. He can't do it himself or elevate others around him.

Columbus f***ed themselves by having their top players in Laine and Gaudreau. Neither one is someone to build a team around.

Gaudreau is leading Columbus in points by 10% to their next best scorer. Quickly looking their best forwards in points are having or pacing for career years in points, other that Boone Jenner. So maybe it's not Gaudreau being bad, but Columbus having an awful year overall.

That's what happens when you build your team around Gaudreau.

I’ve loved Johnnys game. I’d give him his contract again easily. There’s a lot of judgement on the dudes play from people who obviously haven’t watched him play at all. The amount of amazing dishes he gives out a game is unreal.

Would love for him to score on a breakaway though.
