I like how Nordstrom gets a pass for not "developing" his offensive game, where Spooner gets slammed for not improving on his own defencencies.

Still I think I "understand (perfectly well) what Nordstrom brings." Not enough to not be roster spot that should be improved upon. If I can't expect some kind of base competency in the offensive zone, then I shouldn't expect a regular shift.
I’m not opposed to putting Cehlarik on the 4th line and calling someone like Frederic up for 3C, but if anyone is being bumped for bringing no offense it’s Acciari. At least Nordstrom brings speed and pk.

I had a good feeling about him after seeing him first hand in the China games rather then going by stats he had in the past, lol. That is never a good way to judge a player. He seems to remind me a bit of Riley Nash, probably not as good offensively but faster. Maybe this is just what Krech needs a strong fore checker that has size and is relentless. This will make room for him and he can avoid the grinding stuff and just make plays. The new Swedish Chris Kelly

Can he become Riley Nash 2.0?

Backes and Wagner are really the only other veteran options to step into the top 6 from time to time so I'm glad to have this guy. That line looked much better tonight than the first 3 games.

biggest thing to me is his compete level. he never quits on a play, puts in the same effort in all 3 zones, and just always seemed to be there when a play was made.

not dumping on or quitting on Donato, but he could learn a bit from that. Keep moving, keep in the play and things happen

This is like when Dan Paille used to play with Bergeron before 2010-11. He is well-rounded enough and skates well enough to function in that role, but is nowhere close to the answer for a long-term gig on a scoring line.

I want to see a stretch of games with him on that line before saying "is nowhere close". This isn't fair to the player or the line. Chemistry creates opportunities so let's see how this progresses before deciding on failure. Paille is a pretty good comparison. Nordstrom does appear to be a little more physical in his style but pretty darn close.

I'm getting some Chris Kelly vibes from him, He's got decent wheels, he seems to win corner/board battles(each line needs this type of player imo). I wouldn't mind him on the 3rd line, hopefully Debrusk can improve on that aspect of his game sooner than later.

To me he kind of reminds me of Paul Byron from the habs. It wasn't that long ago that he was on waivers and considered a fast defensive player and then he was given a shot and turned into a very valuable player. Not saying he scores 20 but might make a good addition if given opportunity to do so

Sorry nothing like Kelly. Kelly was nowhere near as fast and I rarely witnessed any tenacity like Nordstrom. Cerebral is a better description for Kelly. Mind you this is only one game but I can't see how Nordstrom will be any different next game.

Noooooo I wanted Byron for so long now. He's already playing very well for Montreal. He was my full out trade target over Nash.

Agree with others in that he's not a permanent (or even temporary) solution to the void on the 2nd line but he played damn well last night. If he can replace a guy like Riley Nash, then he's worth his weight in gold. Absolute beauty of a goal last night.

Not a fan of him on the second line. Bad decision.

He played an excellent game tonight. Stood out to me.

Congrats indeed to Nordstrom. First of many?

played solid in the parts I got to see, think he`s a guy who would be the ideal fit in a spot no higher than the 3rd line myself

What a game by him. He was a key cog on a few Bruins goals, I'm really liking what I'm seeing. Might be better on the 3rd line in the long term, but ride him on the 2nd while you can.

He creates space and opens the ice for Krecji/Debrusk to do their thing. Love the speed and puck pursuit. Don't change the 2nd until it goes stale (if).

I agree. Kind of reminds me of PJ Axelsson

Relentless pursuit. Not the best hands but doesnt have stone hands

Solid player. I would love to see him paired with Backes on the third line and one of the kids ( think Heinen works best here ).
