James Harden's NBA Salary is $38,200,000

James Harden was fined $50,000

0.13% of his salary.

What the **** is this going to do to deter ANYONE from breaking the rules now?

Jesus Adam Silver has got to be the biggest pushover of a commissioner in professional sports without a doubt, and one of the biggest pushovers in history.

So true, but according to the sports media and fans, he's the best commissioner in all of sports and "it's not even close"

Sure, because he lets the inmates run the asylum and thats what everyone wants. Ruling with a iron fist is no "fun."

It is a joke.

That is the same as giving a $65 fine for someone making $50,000 a year.

Basically the same as a parking ticket.

& a $65 ticket won't prevent many people from parking illegally again.

Lol oh god. Just listened to Adam Silver on ESPN The Jump discuss why he only fined Harden $50,000. His reasons:

1) Because it's Christmas
2) This is his 1st offence because he wasn't under the same rules as everyone else before reporting to training camp (even though training camp already began for everyone else and they were following protocols)
3) This is the maximum he's allowed to fine Harden under the CBA
4) Punishments will get worse based on accumulating offences

This guy literally could not be any more of a pushover if he actively tried to be.

1) WTF ????? So I guess that means the players can do whatever they want? Because its Christmas????? Holy crap.

2) Actively put the entire organization at risk, first by following rappers around, then attending a packed party once he started practicing with the team. I don't care if it was his first offence, he was openly flaunting the rules.

3) So don't fine him. Suspend him.

4) Define worse.... maybe 60 K ? Hes too much of a wimp to suspend anyone. What would one have to even do to get suspended, because clearly you can break not only the NBAs rules, but the local governments rules about COVID and get a measly fine.

The Rockets must be tearing out their hair now that Brooklyn probably isn't an option anymore.

Even though Masai proved he could build a Championship team I still don't think Toronto is a landing spot for the NBA's top players. They will continue to build from with in.

No they aren't. Siakam is not a #1 option. He will get the touches and will put up points, they had that with DeRozan, but Siakam is not a great player. He's an athletic mismatch.
DeRozan was never a "good" #1 option. He was the best the Raptors had but couldn't shoot a 3. In the playoffs good teams stopped him going to the basket and he didn't have anything else. Consequently the Raptors kept losing.

He actually gave one as a reason? Oy vey. And what the hell does two have to do with anything, this offense took place after he reported.

Part of that is by default, he's not shitting on the traditions of the NBA, having multiple teams actively get away with cheating or having labor problems every five minutes a la Manfred, he hasn't had seven plus years of just hideous tone-deaf decision after tone-deaf decision a la Goodell and the media just dings Bettman because the NHL's had more labor stoppages than any sport but there actually hasn't been much to complain about since the last labor stoppage overall, other than the bizarre draft lottery this year.

Absolutely. Siakam is going to get DeRozan's shots and be successful but that doesn't mean Siakam is the type a player to lead a team. He may prove me wrong but from what I see when he players he doesn't have "it".

But how many players have "it" ? Very few. Even LeBron needed another top 5 player to win last year. The Raptors need another stud player; a Lowry clone that's 10 years younger.

Superstars have "it". No one on the raptors has "it". People were led to believe DeRozan had "it", but to the trained eye he had sh"it". lol

Siakam showed he could be a great #2 option, but he's not leading a team to a championship any time soon.

That said, there's no way in hell I'd be trading for James Harden because that guy is the ultimate #2 option. He's already proven time and time again throughout his career he can't be the #1 option to lead a team. He can score, sure. Great at that. But he isn't leading a team to a championship.

If you are playing HORSE. But he doesn't engage his teammates, or change his game when his shooting goes cold and plays crap defense. He can score but not sure he can win.

Came pretty close to beating a very good GS team. Then they inexplicably traded away Capela, then CP. Then brought it Westbrook.

CP and Capela were good fits. Just needed a better supporting cast around them.

Doesn't matter. He's been constantly surrounded by talent and failed to get the job done.

There's too much evidence that's been piled up to show Harden doesn't get it done when it matters most. No team with championship aspirations should be trading for this fool.

Surrounded by talent he reportedly chose. Apparently he’s an even worse GM than he is teammate.

Irony in all this is that the Rockets have one of the better teams they’ve assembled in the Harden era. John Wall still appears to have his explosiveness, Boogie is a beast in the paint if he’s healthy, and Christian Wood has an offensive game pretty well suited to play with Harden.

Before he decided to act like a selfish child, they low key had a really good team.
