tyler bertruzzi arbitration numbers are being reported now... for those not farmilar he has the same career games as debrusk... same points... less goals... was a second round pick instead of a first... is a couple years older
clearly debrusk is the better player
bertruzzi is asking 4.25 mill for a 1 year deal... he might not get it, but no chance in hell any agent that isnt incompetent allows debrusk to sign a long term deal for less than this
Detroit is offering tyler 3.15 mill... on a 1 year...
there are comparables for jake that are in the 6 mill range on 6-7 year deals... but this covid enviroment sort of throws everything into a question mark.
my gut says debrusk will end up around 4 on a very short deal {possibly 1 year}
or maybe a back end loaded 2 year deal so that his qualifier is up around 5 on a 2 year deal
players are trying to avoid front loaded deals now with the possibility of a prorated season and a high escrow clawback.
