I’m not sure what happened or clicked with Jack but his interviews and on ice mannerisms have been night and day recently. Maybe it’s just coming with age, but it’s awesome to see.

Probably a combination of Krueger's methods and Jack maturing.

Think it is time that Jack becomes a regular PKer, given how much he has improved in the defensive zone this year

Plus, he'd likely be good for a few shorties as well

I don't support this idea. Eichel already plays almost 22 minutes a night, and we already have PK specialists who don't have the same offensive upside as Eichel. Adding regular PK duties to his already heavy workload will just reduce his overall effectiveness and lower his offensive output due to exhaustion, along with not making use of the existing PKers already on the team. It's an inefficient use of team resources.

I support Eichel being on the ice when the game is on the line with little time left on the clock, because Eichel can make good use of that time to generate offense, but playing on the PK regularly will just sap his energy since he'll be spending the majority of the time in his own zone, using that energy to prevent the other team from scoring with a low chance of scoring himself.

Jack is reminding me more and more of Gil P. Just a dominant skater having his way. Except I have not seen one slapshot out of Jack, yet.

Eichel talks about the Bills clinching a playoff spot.
#OneBuffalo feels: Sabres' Jack Eichel, Ralph Krueger thrilled by Bills' playoff clincher
"I’m really fired up for them, it’s awesome to see. I’m just really happy for their group, and I know how hard they work. It’s so great for the city to have that. The Pegula family, they do everything for us, they do everything for the Bills. It’s awesome to see them get rewarded for how great owners they are. "We're still trying to find our identity. We've got a long way to go, a long season. For them obviously, they've been working for months now and they're starting to see some of their hard work pay off and starting to accomplish some of their goals they set out to achieve."

"It's big for us to try to build an identity as a team. You can see their identity. I think when you look at their group, look at each guy on the roster, it really stands out how much the team means to that. They've obviously identified their strengths and they really play to them. Their defense is tremendous. They take care of the football. They do all the little things well and it adds up to wins. Ten wins in the NFL isn't easy. They've just had a tremendous season and I can't say enough good things about them, couldn't be happier for the city to have them in the playoffs."

On the post game show, NBC called out the rest of the Sabres for not getting him the puck on the final PP (Dahlin got ripped for that), and also for not finishing the great chances he regularly converts.

If we can upgrade Reinhart on the RW (and that is the only way I support taking him off the top line), Jack could go > 2 ppg over an entire season

If you look at most of the top scorers in the league you see a similarity.

McDavid + Draisaitl

Pasta + Marchand

MacKinnon is up there as well but quite frankly his team is #1 in the league in goals per game and Rantanen was on pace for 100+ points before he got injured.

Eichel +....? Well there's nobody near the top on the Sabres. Not to knock Olofsson since hes 8th in scoring over that stretch (16th in points per game, which actually has him ahead of Draisaitl and Pasta)

Despite all these things if Eichel can keep this level of play up not only is the Ross a possibility but the Hart should be a definite. No one is better than Eichel right now.

High praise for Eichel from the Toronto media.
Why ‘heart and soul’ Jack Eichel is building a case for MVP - Sportsnet.ca
TORONTO – If the Buffalo Sabres finally put an end to the longest playoff drought in the National Hockey League, it will be because Jack Eichel threw the franchise on his back and tugged it across the finish line.

Sure, it’s a Herculean task, one quietly being picked away at under the twin shadows of the Super Bowl–aspiring Buffalo Bills in town and the headline-hording Toronto Maple Leafs down the QEW.

But if any one hockey player can lead the Sabres out of the doldrums, it is this matured, team-first, 200-foot threat we’ll dub Jack Eichel 5.0, the hottest player in hockey.

Four seasons of chronic losing can break a man. Or make one.

Jack is a pleasure to watch this year, he was very good last year also. But this year his 2 way game is so much better. The Sabres have a bit more talent this year to surround him. But are still not there. I really hope he gets to play with a deeper line up one day. Botterill needs to find him some more support. I sort of feel for Jack, he is doing all he can out there, someone else needs to step up to help him.

Ay, you and everyone who regularly posts on this board. Olofsson is a nice addition. Between his shot and smarts/attention to detail, he's a great fit for Jack. Still need more help up front, though.
