Fraud team? Isles have been a solid team for a few years now, and have gone farther than us in the playoffs. I get their fans are obnoxious, lets not stoop to their immature level.

They got Trots and we kept Babcock. I never believed a coach really had THAT much impact on a teams performance, but here we are with two great examples. They really have been doing great and were able to parley Tavares leaving and the new coach into something positive.

Now this is a game I want to see the Leafs win a lot! The NYI deserve a beating from the Leafs.

Toronto needs to take this game personal, and go out there and blow the Islanders right out of the ScotiaBank Arena!

It's a war between new-nhl versus old-nhl.

Isles possession numbers are pathetic. Should be interesting to see how they fare against Keefe's system.

Sort of scared of our giveaways though. I'm going to guess Isles overcome their possession flaws by converting their chances at an elite rate.

Another show case for Barzel vs Marner if the draft was today who gets picked First.

I never thought Babcock was or is a bad coach, his style of coaching/systems just didn't mesh with the roster we have. Trots? Hell of a coach too, he's gotten his team to buy in, and results for them have been good! Same thing with Keefe here, everyone can say he's inexperienced, but there's no denying his ideologies bring out the best in the roster the leafs currently have.

Coaching is a very important aspect to hockey.

Why does Toronto need to take this game personel? I don't get it, Isles have done nothing bad to the Leafs, sure their fans are butthurt, but has nothing to do with it. Leafs need to go in and not get cocky here, we are nowhere near out of danger, contrary to what people like to believe, the mindset is just to go out there and get 2 points, how its done currently is of no importance.

Can anyone point me to the season where the Leafs previously had 9 consecutive games for 4+ goals?

I keep hearing the media talk about it, but I can't find it.

Stubbed my toe, and my liver is a game time decision.

I got you beat- I blew my back out a week ago, possibly even a slipped disc in the back, have barely been able to get off the couch for the past week, even walking for 5-10 mins proves to be a challenge. To top it off, I pulled a 2 inch piece of metal from my leg last night as well, surprisngly didn't feel a damn thing over that. 2020 sure has not been a great start for me haha. Good thing for whiskey.

Wow, were the 80's fun. Don't get me wrong I'd like a tighter defensive game as it's crucial to playoff success, but scoring goals and trading chances is fun. The NHL might be a lot more fun to watch if the referee's actually called penalties in the playoffs.

Believe it or not, the Islanders are 17th overall in xGA/60. Leafs are 22nd. However, the Leafs are 11th overall in xGF%, while the Islanders are 22nd.

Basically, these teams are close, but the gap between Toronto's offence and NYI's offence is larger than the difference between NYI's defence and Toronto's. Toronto has actually been the better team in all situations.

The real difference in the standings comes from goaltending. Islanders are 4th, Toronto is 16th.

I criticized Lou for letting Lehner go but its hard not to tip your cap as they haven't missed a step. If their goaltending even drops slightly though from Elite to Good, I think they will be in big trouble. Hard to see it happening though, as it didn't last year.

Breaking the goaltending down between Andersen and the backups like changes things slightly in our favour?

This team is definitely out of the woods now. Its the Keefe system taking shape as a instinct now that still needs work as expected. I notice a more fluid awareness of everyone now. It is definitely time to let the talent and skating play out into a all zone aggressiveness that works consistently. They look pretty sharp most nights last 5 games actually. They aren’t thinking as much and its a pretty nice skating system we are seeing. I like it anyways

Tomorrow is a very important game to win because you got Florida, Tampa and Boston all playing tomorrow, and Florida and Tampa playing Sunday against Carolina and Pittsburgh.

If you can win tomorrow you not only maintain your spread on both Tampa and Florida but none of Tampa, Florida or Boston play on the 6th or the 8th and the next game is Florida, so IF they win tomorrow there is a chance they can make the Atlantic interesting

Pretty sure it’s ‘93.

That's for 9 games.

If they can do it again vs NYI, that's 10. And I believe that's the first time since 1980-81.

Here's the PTS during those 10 games.
