Is austin matthews even in the conversation?

My argument is against all 3 guys as mostly 1 way players... you need a much more gretzky/lemieux level of domination if you want to be called best player in nhl as just a scorer

There really isnt alot of difference scoring between these top guys

But some clearly play a better brand of defense with more physicality

Haha, the Maple Leafs are stacked with young talent and Matthews is the best of the bunch. The Leafs are in the conversation for best team in the league and I imagine for most Toronto fans thats more than enough.

As for Auston...... he's a top 10 center right now in my opinion. His peak is 40-50 goal scoring 200 foot monster who shines in big games. Will he ever match McDavid's point totals? Nope. But when it's all said and done people, people who really know hockey, don't haggle over PPG when ranking the all time greats.
