Surprise surprise, abasin is attacking others for not agreeing with his overblown criticism once again.
You know what your problem is man? <snip> not being able to acknowledge an underperforming player when they see one.
From Friedman's 30 thoughts. Doesn't look good for getting a defenceman.
Avs have 8 defencemen on 1-way contracts.
Not even a little bit close. Could Gormley one day become a top-4 guy? Maybe...maybe not.
There's still a chance you're trading for Cam Barker here.
Thanks, Bender. I don't get to see much junior or AHL hockey, so it's hard for me to judge other teams' prospects before they hit the NHL.
I was just looking at Gormley, and wondering if he's Arizona's version of Elliott - very good skills in juniors, ample openings on the NHL team…… but he never makes it in any real capacity. You know?
Then again, Arizona is coached by Tippett, and he's a stickler with his defensive system, so I could see a young guy having to work harder to play for him than your average coach. That could be a factor, I suppose.
Yes, Roy really liked him in camp too and he must be healthy now to help out Lake Erie.In today's waiver news, Avs place Ben Street on waivers.
In today's other news, Ben Street is part of the Avs organization???

I see Gormley fairly often. He's going to be an NHL'er. He could be now actually.

Interesting on Street. LE almost has too many forwards. Someone else is going to Fort Wayne unless there are new injuries.
Meurs is my guess to go to the ECHL next. Deany boy hates him.
"If they don't improve their blue line, they have no chance of becoming an elite team in the Western Conference," one rival Western Conference team executive told ESPN.com via text message. "They may have to give consideration to moving one of their top forwards for a top-four D-man."

Can't disagree with that. Sorry O'Reilly but you gotta go.
Sekera
Giordano
Yandle
Josi
Myers
Edler
Staal
Gardiner
Petry
IMO those 7 Dmen are the 7 most likely to be acquired if we move ROR, and in the order of preference from my perspective.
I think 1 for 1 is a pretty fair trade for all of them except Gardiner, Petry, and Staal.
I'd be fine with getting any of those guys too. For some reason I just have this feeling that it will end up being Myers or Sekera that we trade for. Myers is alright and I feel he could really further his game on a new team, but he's a RHD so either he'd need to adjust to playing the Left side, or Barrie would get moved down and Guenin traded.
A right side of EJ, Myers, and Barrie would be pretty strong though. With Hejda and Stuart on the Left side for now, and Bigras/Siemens taking there spots in a couple years.
