So is Murphy now our third-pairing RHD? If so, he’s probably among the better, if not the best, third pairing in the league

It will not be your typical D pairings if you ask me. Murphy will be used in a shutdown role (ideally with de Haan) then Keith Boqvist and Maatta Mitchell being used in more offensive roles. Maatta plays well with PMD who skate well and Mitchell is just that. This will allow Keith Boqvist to be used in a pure offensive role (laugh all you want but Keith still has offensive ability) that can take chances and still have the skating to recover.

Now that he's in the fold, what are we really looking at with Mitchell? Legit top pairing guy or is this pie-in-the-sky prospect hype?
