After basically all year I finally completed my all time Penguins team, specifically with guys who won the Cup with the team (plus Hedberg since I loved him). Snagged IPOTG Lemieux for 1mil, thought I'd have to pay a lot more

Been getting really lucky lately. Re-rolled the Flashback Eric Staal (99), diamond Jakub Lauko (99), and got 95 Marc Arcobello in an untradeable pack. Also got enough free collectibles to trade in for a SCP pack and got Bergeron

I'm 20 wins away from upgrading 93 Nolan to 97, which should be cool (I love 93 Nolan). I have about 200k right now to mess with. Assuming Bergeron becomes a 99, he'll probably get bumped up to #2C. At this point, I'm thinking one final right shot forward and probably one final right shot D will round out my team.

I know his faceoff stats are probably insane, and it may sound blasphemous, but any desire to try Bergeron on the left wing? Forsberg and Messier already have good faceoff stats and finding a solid 4C is probably a lot easier than finding a top-6 RH winger.

Actually, a really good idea. Before I even saw the SCP players I was hoping for a right shot 99 overall for my first or second LW.

With FM active, I could run Brind’Amour, Forsberg, Messier, and Nieuwendyk down the middle.

I finally finished my grind for 97 Nolan, but he's been pretty shit for me so far. I had his 93 card on my first line for, like, 500+ games and loved him, but the 97 just feels worse. Nothings goes in, he seems slow, can't connect on passes. I'm rocking:

How’s 99 Chabot?

I really like his build. I got him as a Sens fan, and because the #1RD is the most important position with the way I play. He's very effective at scoring through high glove wrist shorts, and pretty decent at one-timers. His speed and size are nice.

Toty OEL is a really nice card, too. I bought him for 350k, but apparently his Awards card isn't that expensive and will triple the synergies if he wins his award.

Players don't matter. OVR is irrelevant. Don't waste your $ or time building a roster

HUT is all about ping rate. If you match up to anyone over 40 ping consider it a loss, or a dogfight despite how good your team is. Anything over 45 count your loss. Your 99 OVR players will get owned by 70OVR players. Rebounds, stickcheck, pokecheck, hipcheck...call your momma crying

Any game you play at a 20-30 ping you are almost guaranteed to win....despite how good your opponents team is.

Play a team at 50+ ping and you will encounter the most brutal player who can't deke or play and will shoot coming over the blue line....and score. If they don't, your players will get owned on rebounds and they can cycle for days. You will be UNABLE to switch players

Want to enjoy HUT, stick to matching up players to a 30- ping. Your wins will come 2fold

I can't even play HUT anymore. The switch to dedicated servers f***ed me over. I get the speed up lag after 30 seconds every single time and then I get DC'd and end up with a loss.

So figured I'd try to get into DIV1 before NHL20 comes out. Kinda unsatisfying hollow achievement coasting through the divisions when few of the DIV1 players are playing anymore. Granted seeing how many all 99 teams there are, perhaps getting Horton 90 was at least worth it. Not nearly skilled enough to face good players with a 99 team.

Dedicated servers are the best thing that's happened to HUT in a while. I'll get effected negatively sometimes soon, but it was about time they made the change like every other game in the world has.

HUT feels kinda fresh this year, not sure why.

One thing I don't like is these Icon Collectibles. You get them through monthly rewards, milestones, etc. But then also through packs, so it kinda cheapens the value to me.

I decided to spend some HUT icon tokens on an 85 pack and an 86 pack. Picked up Tim Horton and Pat LaFontaine.

My team is alright, nobody besides those two and Hometown Gagner over 80 overall.

I’m really digging HUT though.

Squad battles is a very good addition to HUT. Allows offline players to pick up some interesting rewards.

I decided to get the game (my buddies play EASHL a lot, so i still like to be kept in the loop or so to speak) and jumped into HUT just to see what my pre-order stuff would give me, and my loyalty packs. Honestly? Not a bad start;

Yeah I’m glad packs are cheap again. 35K for a decent pack was just unreasonable. Anyone remember back in the day when they used to have sales on packs occasionally? It would be like 50 cents or 2500 coins for the best pack for a weekend. It would severely f*** the market for a bit, but it was still awesome to rip so many packs and improve the team so much in one weekend.

I’m concerned I’m going to be screwed out of my deluxe edition and returning user stuff. I downloaded the standard version through EA Access, liked it enough to want to purchase the Deluxe Edition, but went back into the game and didn’t have the preorder bonus or Deluxe Edition stuff. Hopefully that unlocks for me tonight at midnight. I might try deleting the game that’s installed and downloading the Deluxe Edition through the library.

Right now packs are a good deal since 83 and 84 overalls are desireable. But in 3 months those packs will be garbage and probably not worth it.

Obviously they'll have special packs for events but I'm hopoing the odds for pulling higher overalls will increase throughout the year while pack prices remain constant.
