Horvat: “Yeah, that's definitely a no-go on the road. No more Fortnite.”

Personally, I think NHL Franchise Mode is infinitely more addictive than Fortnite. I tried Fortnite and couldn’t really get into it, but I regularly lose large portions of my dat to NHL Franchise Mode.

Same here, I also like Dominations, you guys should try Dominations.

Yes, I am fully aware of that. I’m also aware that Benning denied it.

Are you aware that, sometimes, people lie?

When Don Waddell was asked about trading Noah Hanifin on June 20, 2018:

When Brad Treliving was asked about trading Dougie Hamilton on June 21, 2018:

What happened in real life on June 23, 2018?

When Marc Bergevin was asked about trading PK Subban on June 23, 2016:

I believe the guy who initially reported the story was told to lie and say that it wasn’t about Juolevi.

I wasnt even referring to Benning

Jeff Marek from Sportsnet wrote the original story, and came on TSN 1040 a few weeks after the story and said he was unaware this story was going to get so much traction.

So when Vancouver started freaking out, he said he flat out can confirm it was Juolevi.
He said the prospect in question had a terrible year in junior.

It's Max Jones.

That mode is overrated, and the AI sucks. If you want real addiction try the old school eastside hockey manager with updated rosters, now that will kill some relationships.

I think this is incredibly dumb. yes video games can be a problem if someone gets addicted, but that's the case with pretty much any addiction. As far as ways to casually blow off steam, it's perfectly fine

I mean, if someone’s doing a thing which is highly addictive and is having a negative impact on his life and career, that’s not “perfectly fine”.

Just about anything you can name which is addictive enough to destroy a career, is something that an NHL team is going to prohibit on the road.

Alcohol can be a problem if someone gets addicted, but that's the case with pretty much any addiction. As far as ways to casually blow off steam, its perfectly fine.

The difference being that you wouldn't be drinking or clubbing with someone just starting to battle with an alcohol addiction. Probably best to do the same with a gaming addiction.

The funny thing is all of these pro athletes are disgusting console players so they're getting addicted to a trash version of an already mediocre game. Imagine if someone turned these guys on to some actual good games.

I think this lends credence to the idea that Juolevi was probably the prospect whose career was recently reported as being in jeapordy due to a video game addiction.

The reported prospect with a video game addiction was described as a Junior player. Juolevi played in a professional men's league last year.

“On video games – and I’m not going to say the player’s name. I really doubt he’s going to make it to the NHL, and it’s because of a video game addiction, to the point where his junior general manager told me that they’ve had him go to counseling over it, because he’ll play until all hours of the night and into the morning and then he’ll have no energy the next day. Like, he’ll be a write-off. And it is that bad. He has this compulsion for playing video games until all hours. I swore that I wouldn’t say the player’s name, but it’s unfortunate. He’s a recent first-round draft pick for a very, very prominent NHL team, will probably never play in the NHL because of a video game addiction.”

I have no real care whether the Canucks (or anyone else) plays Fortnite or not, but I do find it slightly interesting that sitting around playing a video game where you can still talk to other people and take breaks when you want is a no-no, but spending 2ish hours in a movie theater where you are meant to be quite and stay for the whole thing is an encouraged activity...

I posted the tweet. Jeff Marek replied to Jones. It wasn't him.
I haven’t seen Marek deny it was him. But, I’ll trust the people I heard it from who were at the combine when the story blew up. I do think the story is bullshit in that there is a large gap between telling a guy he’s playing too much, and it actually ruining his career. Marek realized he over sensationalized the story and walked it back a bit.
