You must have missed the Mario Tremblay era in Montreal or the Mike Kitchen era in St. Louis.
Housley makes both of them look like Al Arbour in comparison. This is as terrible and embarrassing a 2 season stretch as you could name in the past 30 years.

This is already an upgrade over Sparks. The five hole is already considerably smaller.

I thought that I knew how fast Austin Wagner is, but that was absolutely ridiculous. Even if the Chicago defensemen were standing still, that was still some blazing fast skating.

The fastest player in the league nobody has heard of. That was McDavid speed, and that's not pumping our own tires.

"We did a good job of taking the crowd out of it," deadpanned Sens goaltender Craig Anderson, who was fantastic in the home victory.

Is that something you guys joke about?

"No," Anderson replied.

Dallas comes back from 2-0 down to send it into OT and still has the chance to clinch tonight if they get the extra point in OT or the shootout.

I don't know. Kitchen arguably didn't have a ton of talent when he was coaching the Blues, but he regularly showed he had no idea what he was doing behind the bench. Not sure what exactly is going on with Housley and the Sabres, but it's pretty apparent they've all mailed it in and are just going through the motions to get to the end of the season at this point.

Relative to expectations - especially in say early December - I'd agree, what's going on in Buffalo since then is pretty damn disappointing.

Stars can beat Winnipeg and Calgary, but can't close out games against the worst teams in the league.
