For the Leafs, they not only clinch a playoff spot if any of those scenarios happen, but they also clinch at worst (and likely finishing spot) 3rd in the Atlantic.

I really haven't been paying much attention to how the Leafs have been doing recently on a game to game basis... I just know where they are in the standing ... So I'm a bit surprised that they haven't clinched a playoff spot already.

Will this be another year where expectations exceed performance?

Bruins-Leafs series might turn into a goalfest. Neither Rask nor Andersen look very sharp right now.

Except that there will be no Fleury tonight, so the result won't mean that much.

I'm assuming MAF will be back for the playoffs.
I'm assuming, that since MAF's status is "Fleury is out of commission due to a lower-body injury and there is no timetable for recovery.", he won't be available for the 1st round against SJ and therefore tonight's game could very well be a playoff preview.

Fleury's mysterious injury could be the Sharks' playoff gift

Well that stinks for the Knights and definitely changes my upcoming betting on this series. I had just assumed they were being cautious with MAF.

They're also in a much more competitive division/conference so that contributes to why they haven't clinched yet.

5 out of the 6 worst teams in the league are Eastern Teams (NYR, Buffalo, Detroit, NJD, and Ottawa)

I'm talking about the teams fighting for a playoff position. Toronto has more points than SJ and SJ clinched a spot a while ago.
