max is just too soft....the game gets a lot tougher in the playoffs compared to regular season....max just cant cut it in those rough and tough games
The Max memory I will never forget was last season in an OT game... Max has a breakaway, chance to win it... All alone. And he fails to even come close to getting a shot off. LOL

For me the king will always be Desharnais but it was more about his usage more than anything.
Andrei Kostitsyn would be the one that frustrated me the most with his play.

What have you done for me lately.... but yes the deployment of DD was the most rage inducing player for me on the habs.... Almost said alzner but I cant help but laugh at him...

so is it really DD or is it really MT????????

For a guy who frustrated me because he should have been better than he was: Bulis

A guy who frustrated me because he was simply terrible: Traverse and Laflamme

A current guy who I feel is great but simply doesn't produce: Lehkonen

MT is more to blame IMO....DD was put in a position where he shouldn't have been,

if MT put Petry in net and he let in 20 goals, would you blame Petry?....no, because he shouldn't be put there

In the early 90s it was none other than JJD, although he was solid in the 1993 run with his first pass.

Recently, Beaulieu. I really liked his tools.

I suppose I should have put this :sarcasm: instead of .
I'm aware and fully agree 1000% that DD main problem was being liked so much it gave MT butterflies in his stomach.

I would officially like to change my answer to Patches....

Reason: early day patches would use his size and speed to drive to the net ( much like E.Cole did) and now... he doesn't use his size what so ever to drive the play towards the net.... that really frustrates me. Hes a big boy and should use it more.

Pleks and his slapshot/wrist shot into the crest of the goalie is a close second.

I don't know what frustrated me more: players who simply didn't play well enough to be where they were, or the managers and coaches who insisted on giving them chance after chance.

Brisebois was 6'2", 210 lbs and had offensive upside. He had the body and skill set to be a Hall of Famer. Instead he was a pillowy soft, brain-dead idiot. But the most frustrating thing was that Habs management and coaching staffs allowed him to take up space on the roster for a decade and a half. At some point, it stops being Brisebois' fault for being a lousy, gutless hockey player and starts being management's fault for keeping him around.

Same goes for Desharnais. Whatever his faults, the decision to put him in the #1 center slot wasn't up to him. His coach and his GM were the enablers. Desharnais was a problem that was easily fixed. Just get rid of him. But it took them forever to actually do it and they made DD a rich man in the interim.

2014: Michael Bournival. I hated how overrated he got after a decent training camp. Was put in positions he never belonged.
2012-2014: Rafael Diaz. Never seen a guy that soft and that scared on the ice.
2009-2012: Mathieu Darche. I just hated his 'act cool' demeanor. He was always the one trying to act like a leader despite having next to no NHL expericence. It fell on my nerves.
2009-2012: Andrei Kostitsyn. Traded 2 years too late. Was a sniper who wouldn't play like one. Reminds you of someone we traded this summer?
2007-2009: Chris Higgins was a specialist to miss golden scoring opportunities too. Then the nightlife got in his way and he never was the same again.
2007-2009: Kyle Chipchura. Another really overrated name around here. Never was much of anything.
2005-2007: Garth Murray. Just a terrible player all around and a human punching bag.
2002-2005: Patrick Traverse. What a bad player
2002-2005: Nicklas Sundstrom. Soft 3rd liner in an era where teams were tough.

Recently, Andrew Shaw is falling on my nerves a little bit. I don't value or like Paul Byron to the extent some on this board do. Since the 2017 playoffs, Pacioretty is a guy I can't bear seeing in a Habs jersey. Jordie Benn and David Schlemko are two other guys I don't like. If Drouin doesn't do better this season, he'll get in this category too.

Some names I've seen listed on this thread and that I personally liked are:
- Kovalev. Just a huge fan of the player.
- Ribeiro. I genuinely liked the guy. To me he was a pretty skilled guy. Had personal issues but on the ice he was a treat to watch.
- Zednik I cannot understand why he fell on anyone's nerves. He got 25+ goals seasons in years where our offense was terrible and was usually warrior in the playoffs. He also kicked Chris Drury's ass in a fight and I still remember it to this day haha.

Malakov first name for me also. When he is “ on”, he was the best player on the ice. Too bad that dominance depended on his mood.

Yep, he would like a Norris winner one game and then look like Jordie Benn for the next 5-15.

Brian Gionta those last few years with his constant shooting right into the chest and killing whatever good stuff was going on.

This. Would also add the little while before Gorges was traded and he looked like he forgot he was a D not a goalie.

So much talent but so lazy and would never get into a dirty area to fight for a puck. At least he had that 1 great game in Philly!!!!

Stephane Richer. This is one of the few players who would make me stand up when he had the puck and going forward.... only to lose it lamentably at the blue line. I loved this player when he was intense, but he made me so mad when he was just weak, both of character and intensity.

And recently, I would say Galchenyuk
