Developing scoring wing who displays ability to make plays in high gear. Has a quick jump and although not a real lateral player, weaves well in traffic. Reads coverages and gets open. Plays strong on the puck when pressured, and can be clever when called upon to be. He is more a finisher than set up guy, and is very disciplined to get back in transition and back check for pucks. At this juncture isn't strong enough to dominate, but when he is, he may be good pro up & down North-South skater with ability to pot some goals and provide opportunistic scoring cahnces on the attack.

A strong skating player with good finishing ability. Possler has a quick release and is overall quite gifted offensively. Hockey sense is decent, puck skills quite good.

Possler is a strong skating finisher. He’s a good skater who shows explosiveness in his first few steps which helps him stir things out of nothing while challenging the defenseman wide. He has good straight-line speed, turns well and very fluid on his skates. He’s good with the puck on his stick and controls it well at high speed and in tight areas. He’s not an electrifying dangler but is a very smart player in many ways and does many clever small things with the puck. He sees the ice well and has some decent creativity but is far more a natural goal scorer than a playmaker. Possler possesses a lethal shot and gets it off quickly and often. He gets his shot released while skating at full speed and has a sneaky hidden release point that doesn’t compromise accuracy or velocity on wristers. He’s not really a big slapshot guy at all. He’s not overly physical but uses his body position well. Defensively, he is more of a read-and-react kind of player, likes to sit back and pounce on an opportunity to force a turnover with the element of surprise or good stick-work. He comes back and provides a good moving outlet for his defense and is willing to get into lanes and even block shots. He can play both centre as well as the wing but his pro potential translates better as a goal scoring winger.

Possler is a quick sniper who moved up and down between MODO’s U20 squad and their men’s team. He has a real nose for the net, and is a threat to score from the slot on a consistent basis. The first thing you notice about Possler’s game is his offensive abilities. He is very quick off the rush and shows good poise with the puck on his stick. He has above average stick handling abilities, and while he may not overwhelm any defender with his hands, he is able to protect the puck quite well and keep control of it easily as he moves with speed. Possler’s best asset is his shooting ability. He has a very good release to his shots, and is also able to place them quite accurately. He is not afraid to crash the net, and show some toughness and be willing to mix it up with opposing defensemen. The weakness to Possler’s game is his defensive abilities. There are times when he floats around the ice without the puck, and will need to really improve on playing with more intensity in his own end. He certainly has the offensive tools to be a successful pro, but if he cannot be trusted by his coaches in the defensive zone, he will not have the opportunity to show off his skills in the offensive zone.

We have a major sleeper alert here with the young opprtunistic producer. Possler is an average-sized winger with a well-above average release. More of a finisher than a set-up man, the goal-scoring Swede first popped on the radar with an excellent showing at the 2012 U18s, where he used good speed, hands, and an ability to capitalize off the rush to collect eight points in seven games. He's a right place/right time type of player who buries rebounds as well. Heading into the season, I felt that Possler would garner late-first, early-second round consideration. Really solid potential is in play for a team needing scoring from its natural wings.
